On Saturday, November 16, from 10 am to 1 pm, we're hosting a nail clinic at Candler Feed and Seed. Nail clipping services will be provided in exchange for donations, which will support local families through Candler Feed and Seed's Angel Tree.

DID YOU KNOW THAT YOU CAN'T SPREAD COLD WATER WITH AN OVERHEATED DOG OR PUT A WET TOWEL ON ITS BACK? !! ️.
HERE'S THE INSTRUCTION OF WHAT YOU SHOULD DO..

Animal lovers, never make the mistake of pouring cold water overheated dog or putting a wet towel on its back. You will see the opposite effect.

Due to cold, the veins contract and due to high temperatures (above 42 degrees), the proteins in the blood collide, causing the blood to become thick and tight.

Due to the combination of these two factors, blood stops entering the heart and organs fail one by one due to lack of oxygen.
The result is a very slow but very painful death.

If you try to help an overheated dog in this way, it will die anyway.

First give him lukewarm water to drink, then cool his feet and chest/belly with a wet towel.
Then put the dog in the shade on a wet towel!!!

Sharing is highly desirable because time and time again we see footage of overheated dogs exiting a car with water spilled on their backs.

Especially my guardians…NO PURINA! ❌❌❌

***TO BE CLEAR***The 3 babies in the post are/were MINE. This happened to MY BABIES. 2 guardians(in NC) and 1 co-own(in Texas). Different ages and different breeds.

To reiterate-this is not “officially confirmed”. This is based on personal experience as well as that of colleagues. Research shows that TOO MANY other families have reported issues. FDA has not required a recall at this point. Of course, Purina denies that their food contains anything that would cause these issues. Occurrences, illness, and deaths suggest otherwise
