Hey facebook friends and family! I did a thing and joined Tupperware as a consultant! (Yes!….the stuff our grandmas 👵 had!)

I am having my launch party right here on Facebook.

They still have all the classics but lots of new things as well - I would love your support as I start this new adventure.

Let me know if you want to check it out! 🍓🥬🍇

***PASSED AWAY IN THE SHELTER 2/14/24***

***ON EMERGENCY AT RISK PLACEMENT LIST FOR THURSDAY 2/15/24 DEADLINE IS NOON. ***
https://newhope.shelterbuddy.com/animal/list

Shirley was surrendered by her owner due to moving to a place that doesn't allow pets.

Recommend EPL for medical reasons - Shirley has a URI and prolonged anorexia with severe weight loss. She has a feeding tube (nasoesophageal) in place, but has not shown signs of improvement. She will need continued supportive care and may need an esophagostomy tube placed if her appetite does not improve.

What my friends at ACC say about me:
I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.
I have lived with cats.
Cheek and chin scratches make me so happy!
Shirley tolerates attention and petting but appears fearful or stressed in the shelter. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents. Due to the behavior shown, she may not be a great fit for young children. Any home with older children prepared to adopt this cat should conduct a thorough interaction and endeavor to monitor this cat around their children to prevent these behaviors from being reinforced.
Please check here for updated adoption hours.

ENRICHMENT NOTES:: 2/4/24
Shirley was in her den. I lifted the panel and placed treats just outside of the den. She stepped half-way out and ate them. I put treats further away from the den, closer to the kennel door, and she came all the way out of the den to get them. She allowed all petting, meowing softly from time to time. She is very sweet.

ACTIVITY LEVEL:: Subdued

VOCAL:: Quiet

CHARACTER TYPE: : Curious,Playful,Shy ,Independent,People oriented,Timid,Sweet

POTENTIAL CHALLENGES:: Fearful,New home adjustment period

BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION: : Level 3

RECOMMENDATIONS:: No young children

Recommendations comments:: Due to showing signs of FAS in shelter, and requiring a longer period to warm up - the behavior team recommends Shirley goes to a home with no young children under the age of 13 to provide her with an environment in which they can appropriately acclimate.

BEHAVIOR SUMMARY:: On approach, Shirley is in her den with her face visible from the den opening, neutral face and ears forward. She initially tense when the cage door opens and she pulls her head into the den. When the assessor slowly offers the scratcher tool, she leans forward slightly to sniff but cant be coaxed out of her den with treats. Over some time, the assessor offers their hand and she sniffs their hand before allowing and leaning into pets on her head and cheeks, as well as rubbing her cheek along the den opening. Pick up is not attempted.
