Attention clients!!

Many of you know by now I am expecting a baby June 1st. That being said I wanted to give you all an update on my bodywork sessions and my availability.

April:
I am able to haul to you still for bodywork sessions on a limited basis. I still have a few mares to foal out and I don’t go far if they are close to delivering so if we make an appointment around that time and I need to reschedule, please understand.

May:
Being I will be in my 9th month of pregnancy I will not be toting my machines and modalities around to barns. I will still be seeing horses and humans for bodywork sessions but these will be on a haul into my barn in Cannon Falls basis until baby arrives. I also will be making an exception and working some on weekends which I don’t typically do unless it’s an emergency situation.

If hauling to me is not an option for you, please still reach out to me and I will refer you over to Jessica who has been working with me for a few years now. She will have the ability to use all my modalities so your horses are getting the same bodywork sessions they would with me. She is picking up my traveling schedule to an extent as her schedule allows.

I do not have a return to traveling date as of now, but I will continue to allow haul ins to my place for bodywork even before I am traveling. If I tell you I am not returning to work yet, please respect that. I know your horses and athletes are important to you, but this baby and being its momma is very important to me and getting to spend some time healing myself while adjusting to our life with our little is incredibly important also.

I had a conversation with a friend recently and she brought up emotional attachments to feed and supplements and it got me thinking how many people feed something specific because they have an emotional attachment to it. Most likely because of something inside themselves they feel their horses need, say acid reflux, therefore their horses must feel the same and have ulcers so they need to be on an ulcer medication.. or the owner has anxiety, therefore their horse does also..

So what are you emotionally attached to that you have decided your horse is suffering from also. You could be spending unnecessary money on something you just need to work through yourself. Don’t throw things at your horse because you don’t want to deal with something emotionally.

You spend hours throughout the day on social media but when is the last time you spent those same hours doing research on the things you put in your body? Or put into your animals bodies.

Food is fuel. Drama and consuming yourself with social media is also fueling your mind, but in a negative way.

Which fuel do you choose? I encourage everyone to take one hour of their day in social media and direct it to researching the food your fueling yourself, your loved ones and your animals with. A simple “why” or “what is” search would do us all some good. Just give this video a watch and ask yourself what are we fueling our bodies with.

I will continue to say this until I’m blue in the face. Anxiety comes mainly from the gut. Get your guts right, your horses guts right and watch problems disappear 🤷🏼‍♀️

Did you know horses only absorb about 20% of the nutrients in a feed with synthetic (man made) vitamins and minerals. But, vitamins and minerals from a whole food source are more bioavailable to the gut and small intestine and absorbed at a much higher rate, closer to 70%. This is why you are feeding more of a commercial feed rather than a wholefood feed. In the end it’s costing you the same or more to feed a commercial feed verses a wholefood feed, so why not feed something that is better for the digestive system, liver, and virtually eliminates the majority or all of your supplements by feeding a food that is bioavailable to your horses digestive system.

One of my favorite things about coaching people and their horses is this right here. This young lady is away at college and took me serious when I said, reach out anytime and I’ll help.

This weekend she had her first college rodeo and the arena was set up with a very long score line and she didn’t know how to navigate it. She text asking if she could FaceTime me to show me the arena. I helped her find her approach in the alley and what to do with that score line. Then she sent me her video and knew a few spots she didn’t do her best on. So I took screen shots and coached her through where she could improve. Helping in these situations is what I love. Just because she isn’t at my house paying me for a lesson doesn’t mean I’m not here for her.

This is how my coaching works. I physically help you in the arena with riding, then coaching while on the road. The good lord gave me years of experience and awesome coaches so I am here to pass it on.

Listening to some music while cleaning stalls this morning and this song came on, Here and Now by Kenny Chesney. Usually I zone out and the music is just background noise, but one part of the song caught my attention. “Why you think we call the present the present, ‘Cause there ain't no better gift than Here and Now”

It got me thinking. How many of us are kissing the good that’s happening to us everyday because we’re so focused on the past or the future that we don’t enjoy the here and now.

So my reminder for you today is to live in this moment. This one right here and now. Don’t miss the forest through the trees. Life is short and not one of us knows when our time is up. ❤️

This is such a great read!

Did you realise that your horses kidneys move?
That with each breath, they move approximately the length of a vertebral segment?
That in a single day, with your horse breathing normally, they will move on average 1.6km?

Why? Because they are connected to the diaphragm (as well as other things) via fascia and ligaments.
Look where they are located.. right under the back of your saddle. Poor saddle fit, unbalanced riders (any rider really but unbalanced is worse) will put pressure on this area and because where they are innervated from this can cause the restriction.

A classic sign of kidney restriction is the fidgety horse, that won't stand still. They are reactive and sore to pressure over the tops of the last ribs and it's firm, no give.
Combine that with restrictions at TH 15, 16, 17 and 18, and a change in pelvis angle.. and you will have issue with movement and attitude.

That sore back may have nothing to do with the muscles....

I don’t know who needs to hear this but, STOP giving your dogs pup cups. I know it is cute and all but where in their natural habitat and diet, do you think a cup full of sugar fits in. Our dogs were not designed to have sugar. I see a case of pancreatitis in your dogs future if you keep it up.

We wonder why our dogs have so many health issues and allergies 🧐

Never stop learning!!

Everyone we meet has something to teach us. It comes down to, are you willing to learn?

I recently attended my second clinic with Ryan Lovendahl and KC Groves. Now I have been riding for 25+ years and have trained and had great success on the horses I have trained. I could say that I don't need to go and spend money at a clinic because I am good enough or know all I need to know, but the truth is, I am committed to learning more and always sharpening the tools in my toolbox. Ironically when I go to these things, I am reminded of the holes I have as a rider and am given an opportunity to fix them and be better. When you ride alone it's hard to be better without someone noticing what you're doing and telling you it isn't functional.

What I took away from this clinic could give me that 0.3 to 0.5 seconds better than I was, and we all know in the barrel racing world, that time is the difference between 1st and 10th sometimes.

Spend the money on yourself. INVEST in yourself. Every part of this horse stuff costs money, why not spend a little to better yourself.

Coaching is one of my favorite things to do with a horse and rider. I love showing you the little things you can change and work on to get you to that next spot of being just a little better than before.

How much do you spend monthly on your horses feed and supplements?

I spend roughly $1.65 a day per horse. What is my feed program and how is it so cheap? I feed 1 lb of Crypto Aero wholefood horse feed, 4-5 drops of a liquid trace mineral and 1/4 tsp sea kelp. My feed itself costs me $1.20/day and my additional "supplements" cost me $0.45/day. So, in one month I am spending roughly $49.50 to feed one horse all of the vitamins, minerals and nutrients they need.

Now, I have also been on this wholefood, simple diet for quite some time. But, there was a time when my horses needed a few additional things to detox them from the years of junk I was feeding them in commercial, processed feeds. The end goal is to be feeding clean, whole food ingredients so that our horses are absorbing the nutrients correctly and to their fullest extent. In the end, this will save you so much money.

What is the purpose of the liver?

The liver is a crucial organ responsible for digestion and detoxification. It is the body's filter. Think of it this way, if we are filling our bodies with crap, our filter is working extra hard to filter and push out the toxins we are putting through it. When our liver is working overtime, it can't possibly do its job the way it should. Our liver also plays a huge role in the production of hormones. If our liver is working overtime processing our crappy food and toxins we put into it, how is it supposed to also produce enough of the correct hormones we need.

Think about it like this. If you eat fast food which is ultra processed food with so many byproduct ingredients, you are clogging your liver and making it very hard for it to do what it was designed to do.

If you are eating a wholefood diet of clean ingredients like protein (meat) and veggies, or wholefoods that don't consist of processed ingredients or byproducts, you are making it very easy for your liver to do what it needs to do to filter and keep your body functioning at an optimal level. You are also allowing your entire digestive system to absorb the correct vitamins and nutrients from those whole food sources.

So, when is the last time you evaluated your diet or the ingredients label on your horses feed and supplements. If you haven't, I suggest you do so and start doing research. You'll find what you're fueling yourself and your equine partners with is absolute garbage.

What’s in my body work sessions and why did I choose these modalities for them.

Red light:
Red light is a vasodilator (makes blood cells larger) and works on the surface of the skin. Near-infrared promotes cell regeneration through increased cell metabolism, increases collagen, and creates anti-oxidant activity (detoxifying cells), reduces inflammation and pain while triggering growth and regeneration in cells.

Magna Wave PEMF:
PEMF is delivering a charge to the bodies magnetic field to recharge the cells and tissues. It helps to detoxify the cells and body, pushing the junk out and creating an environment the body can thrive in. Reducing inflammation decreases pain, which increases energy to heal tissue faster.

Deep tissue muscle work:
Loosening the tension in the muscles and facia will create optimal mobilization of the body. Using the rapid release massager I can target adhesions in the facia, and break up scar tissue that is creating restriction and immobility in the body. This vibrational massager will also activate the lymphatic system to help it drain correctly.

After doing this for so many years, this is my favorite combination in my body work sessions. All 3 of these modalities work in conjunction with each other so well and they all compliment one another to create the ultimate healing environment for our equine partners.
