We’re reaching out to keep you informed about the recent news regarding avian influenza and its impact on poultry production. At Raw Bistro, we prioritize transparency and the safety of the food we provide for your pets.

We are closely monitoring the situation and working directly with our trusted partner farms to ensure the highest safety standards are upheld. All of our ingredients are source-verified, and our farms follow stringent USDA and National Poultry Improvement Plan (NPIP) guidelines to safeguard against avian influenza.

Here are the key precautions our partner farms take:

🟢Rigorous Flock Testing: Every flock is tested for all forms of avian influenza before being sent to harvest, including the highly pathogenic strains currently in the spotlight. Positive flocks are never sent to slaughter.

🟢USDA Oversight: Testing protocols are supervised by USDA under the NPIP program, ensuring compliance and safety at every step.

🟢Stringent Response Measures: In the rare event of a positive test, the USDA requires the humane euthanasia of the entire flock. This measure is devastating for farmers but ensures no risk to the food supply. Thankfully our partner farms have never been through this, but they know others who have and it is heartbreaking.

We’ve heard concerns raised regarding how avian influenza might find its way into finished products. This is extremely unusual given the robust systems in place and highlights the need for further investigation. Rest assured, we’re following developments closely and will provide updates as more information becomes available.

Happy First Day of Winter! As the snow falls and the cold sets in, it's important to keep our furry friends safe and comfortable during winter walks. Here are 5 tips to help you and your dog enjoy the season safely:

🧣 Bundle Up: Small breeds and short-haired dogs may need a warm coat or sweater to stay cozy.
❄️ Protect Their Paws: Snow and ice can hurt their paws. Consider dog booties or apply paw balm to keep them safe from the cold and ice.
🚶‍♂️ Shorter Walks: Keep walks shorter in extreme cold to prevent frostbite and overexposure.
🐕 Watch for Toxic Salt: After snowstorms, be aware of road salt. Clean your dog’s paws after each walk to prevent irritation.
🐾 Hydrate: Even in the winter, make sure your dog has access to fresh water to stay hydrated during walks.
