A Night at Molly's Place 🐾💖

One of the most rewarding times of our day is getting the kitties at Molly's Place ready for bed. These sweet little souls are tucked in after a cozy evening of full tummies, fresh linens, clean litter boxes, and new toys. We take our time giving them all the love and care they deserve, making sure each one has everything they need to feel safe and loved as they drift off to sleep.

It's moments like these that remind us why we do what we do. Their little faces, their purrs, their joy... It fills our hearts every single time. 💕

Here are some pictures from this evening - a glimpse of their peaceful, cozy moments as they get ready for a restful night. 🛏️✨

🐈‍⬛ From feral to family - Kevin Jr. found his happily ever after!

This sweet kitten started out as a scared little feral when he was rescued by his finder, Kevin. Thanks to his incredible foster family and some meds, Kevin Jr. overcame a URI, regained his strength, and blossomed into the chill, affectionate boy he is today. Now neutered, and vaccinated, he is spending his first night with his new mom - just in time for Christmas!

Kevin Jr.’s journey is a true holiday “feel-good” and it warms our hearts to know he’ll spend this Christmas safe, loved, and cozy, inside at his new home. He’s already making himself comfortable!

🎄Merry Christmas Eve from all of us at JJ’s Helping Paws! 🎅🏽

🐾 Meet Kevin: A Tiny Fighter with a Bright Future! This lil feral kitten was brought to us by a compassionate citizen named Kevin, who couldn’t bear to leave him behind. The kitten, later affectionately named Kevin Jr., was severely underweight, dehydrated, and battling an upper respiratory infection. Thanks to Kevin’s quick action and the love and care of a dedicated foster family, Kevin Jr. has made an incredible recovery and blossomed into the playful, cuddly kitten he was always meant to be.

Kevin has a BIG appetite for such a small kitten - his foster mom keeps him happy with lots of tiny meals throughout the day. When he’s not eating, you’ll find him snuggling with his foster parents or making new friends now that he’s feeling better.

And the best part? This mini panther already has a forever family waiting to welcome him home! Black cats like Kevin often wait longer in shelters and rescues due to outdated superstitions, but we’re thrilled that his story is already headed for a happy ending.

Let’s celebrate Kevin Jr’s journey and remind everyone that black cats (and dogs!) make the most wonderful companions. Thank you to everyone who helped this little guy along the way!

Every cat that comes to JJ’s Helping Paws has a story - one that we often never know. Some arrive full of courage and curiosity, while others carry fear, shyness, or uncertainty. It’s in these moments that the small, special things our volunteers and foster families do can mean the world.

Take Panda Bear, for example. When Panda first arrived, he was scared, shy, and not eating enough. At JJ’s, when we notice a cat struggling, we act quickly to ensure they feel supported. For Panda, one of our incredible volunteers stepped in as his guardian, making extra visits during mealtimes to encourage him to eat and offer gentle reassurance.

Then, Panda transitioned to foster care with this same special guardian. In his foster home, he’s surrounded by love, stability, and all the little things that help a scared soul blossom: his favorite foods, toys, sunny spots to nap in, snuggly beds to rest on, soft music, and kind, patient attention.

The difference? Panda Bear is now thriving! His personality is shining through, and his transformation has been nothing short of beautiful.

This is what volunteering and fostering is all about - meeting cats where they are, offering patience and kindness, and celebrating every step forward, no matter how small.

If you’ve ever thought about volunteering or fostering, now is the perfect time. You could be the person who changes a cat’s life, just like Panda Bear’s foster has done for him.

Today, two of our incredible foster moms (and families) experienced the bittersweet side of fostering: saying goodbye. While their hearts ache and their houses are a little less full tonight, their hard work and love made it possible for two sweet boys to take the next big step in their journey: finding their forever families, just in time for Christmas!

On that note, we want to give a shoutout to one of our incredible partners, Cat Care Society, for welcoming these little men and helping them begin this exciting new chapter. Huge thanks also to our amazing volunteer transfer team who ensured the boys made it safely to Lakewood with love and care.

Fostering isn’t just about giving an animal a place to stay. It’s about giving them a chance - time to heal, grow, and become the best version of themselves. It’s also about loving them enough to let them go when it’s time, knowing they’ll bring joy to another family. A tiny piece of our hearts goes with every animal we send off, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

We can only help as many animals as we have room for, and fostering is the lifeline that makes it possible. If you’ve ever considered opening your home and heart, please do. Every goodbye makes space for the next hello, and every fostered animal is one step closer to a life of love and security.

💖 To all our fosters: thank you. You are the heroes behind every happy ending. 💖

And, to those who adopt, please know how much it means to us when you share updates. A photo, a story, or even a simple note reminds us that the tears and the goodbyes are all worth it.

Check out these videos/pics of the boys with their foster families. You’ll see the love and bond that develops, it makes fostering so rewarding. Good luck boys, you were absolute joys and we are so honored to have been part of your journey. 🥹

🐾 Did you know: JJ's Helping Paws feeds over 550 community cats every single day? 🐾

We do! And that requires a LOT of food. We always need help with dry kibble & wet canned food but right now, we are running very low. Check out our wish lists at the very bottom of our https://jjshelpingpaws.org/donate page.

As the year comes to a close, it’s the perfect time to make a tax-deductible donation, if you are able. Need a receipt? Email us at [email protected]. 💙 Together, we can make a difference for these community cats, we appreciate your support!

A huge THANK YOU to President Kris Gunter and the Canonland Walkers and Hikers for organizing a food drive for JJ’s Helping Paws for the third year in a row! Your ongoing support makes a meaningful difference, helping us feed cats and kittens in need throughout our community. We are so grateful for your kindness and dedication!

At JJ’s, we’re always in need of dry cat food and Friskies canned wet food. If you’d like to contribute, our website’s Donate page has links to our wishlists - every bag and can goes a long way in caring for the kitties who depend on us.

Thank you again, Kris, and the Canonland Walkers and Hikers, for truly walking the walk when it comes to helping animals!

This is Levi. Just last week, he found his forever home, thanks to your support and the efforts of our incredible rescue partners.

Levi’s journey started under a local mobile home, where he was a scared feral kitten. With time, patience, and love from our team, Levi blossomed into the sweet, adoptable kitten you see here. His story is proof that every life matters, and with your help, we can make more stories like Levi’s possible.

✨ Looking for a charming companion to light up your life? ✨

We’ve got two dashing & lovable boys seeking forever (indoor-only) homes!

🐾 Jasper: A floofy lil ginger man with a heart of gold and a playful personality. He also answers to “The Prince” and enjoys listening to Harry Potter on audio and watching sports on the TV.

🐾 Juan: A flame-point Siamese with striking blue eyes and a sweet personality. He’d do best with a young feline playmate at his new home, he’s ready to explore with a best buddy. This lil guy will need patience and lots of love as he is learning to trust humans.

Both are currently available for local adoption and ready to bring joy and companionship to your home. 🏡💕 Help us find these boys homes for the holidays!

Check out their bios and if you think you’d be a good fit, complete an adoption application today to make one (or both!) of these incredible boys part of your family:
