Good morning everyone,
I hope you will take the time to read this
It has come to my attention that I need to remind those, especially who did not deal with a large quantity of dogs on a day-to-day basis that we,too, are humans.
I was told by an individual not to share my “sob story” however it’s far from a sob story but the truth.
This organization, what started out as a family solely run, has now developed into an amazing amount of quality volunteers.
Volunteers that do not get paid, that do not get the appreciation they so desperately deserve. Above all else they all, including myself, have very important obligations outside of rescue.
We are but certainly not limited to:
- caretakers whether it be of children or elderly
- Most of us have children at home as well as as a spouse
- Most of us have a Monday through Friday 8 to 5
You get the picture.
With that being said, we receive hundreds of messages every single week about stray or abandoned dogs.
It is overwhelming and incredibly difficult for us. Every day, we spend hours sending emails, making calls, and pleading with other rescues and shelters to help — and they are just as overwhelmed as we are. They have also exhausted every resource available.
This crisis continues because too many people still refuse to spay and neuter their pets.
It absolutely breaks our hearts, but the reality is that we cannot save them all. We lose sleep over the dogs we have to turn away — the ones we know are hungry, scared, and facing dangerous conditions. We are constantly searching for one more option, one more space, but sometimes there simply isn’t one.
We care deeply. We fight every day.
But we cannot carry this burden alone.
We run on a pray, donations(yes monetary donations), coffee and did I mention prayers?
So yes, if we are able to take in a dog, WE DO ASK FOR MONETARY assistance!!
Sincerely,
Tired, burnt out, unappreciated rescues and voices of the four legged animals
