Good morning to all of my duck hunters! The day we have been anticipating all year long is finally among us! Opening weekend starts now!! Good luck, shoot straight, and be careful out there!

If you find yourself lucky enough to bag a beautiful bird this season and desire to have mounted, please take an extra 5 minutes to package it well. This includes wiping off excess blood, wrapping the head and feet in soaking wet paper towels and gently placing the bird in a large ziplock baggy with the air squeezed out. For years people swore by pantyhose to keep a bird in peak shape but it is NOT a option. Panty hose actually draws the moisture out of the bird and causes freezerburn to set in much quicker. Packaging correctly in freezer bags and paper towels will help extend freezer life tremendously and will make the finished product that much better. While there is a lot I can do to save a bird, please remember that what you bring me is a direct representation of what you will receive! Thank you and good luck to all!

Awesome head scratcher pose on this 14 year old double banded red head 🤯🤯

I am very thankful to have been trusted to work on such a trophy of a bird! This Redhead Drake was banded on both legs, one of which was a steel band and the other was an aluminum band that had been worn down so much over the years that the numbers on it were not legible meaning it had to be sent off to be acid etched in order to receive the data on the bird. When I asked how old the bird was recorded to be I was blown away when my customer told me it was 14 YEARS OLD. That is quite the achievement and surpassing all averages for a wild duck. It was a pleasure to bring this amazing bird back to life for my customer!

Big thanks to for knocking out a beautiful cherry wood base for this piece and for staining it to perfection! It really made the head pop in a way nothing else could! Bull Canvasback ready for its new home! I cannot help but marvel at these huge birds! Canvasbacks are the largest species of diving duck in North America and have been clocked at 72 MPH flying which doesn't even seem comprehendable. Pretty cool if you ask me!

Finished up this bad boy yesterday afternoon and got him sent to his new home. This is my first buck to mount start to finish and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out! Such a great East Texas buck!
