We’ve got 100 new guppy fry that just arrived! All alive and well, they will be quarantined before going into their breeding groups.
The current babies.
This is what we currently have started. We have very far to go still 🙃
I know it’s been a little while but I have a few updates 🙂. We are building a few stands for some smaller tanks to go up, BUT our newest soon to be biggest addition is being planned as we speak! We will soon have a pond 🐸🐟
Follow us for more fun updates as time goes by!
I turned this tank into a Scarlet Badis tank, 3 males currently as we are seeking out females.
Scarlet Badis are considered a micro predator. They grow to about .5”-1”, eating mostly live or frozen foods only. They are semi aggressive and due to the tiny size they are hard to have tank mates with.
I have the sand to switch the substrates for both tanks, just haven’t made it that far yet.
For those who have never seen how flower shrimp feed, they use their feather like hands to catch floating particles of food. Watch and you’ll see 🙂.
Another flower shrimp fact is they can only be bred in brackish waters. Interesting little creatures.
We have a 55 gallon set up now! I have moved all our current stock into it. We also got 2 new kulhi loaches and a flower shrimp!
Who better to ask than the locals?
We are aiming to bring a new found love of aquariums to your community! I hope to provide healthy fish, plants, and education to anyone willing to try the hobby 🙂. We have received a few amazing donations already, but I’ve been asked for a list of things we need in order to open in time for summer/fall:
1. We will accept any tanks (tell us if they don’t hold water please) sizes most needed 10,20H, 29, and 40 gallon tanks.
2. Any filters, decor, bubblers, lights, food or heaters you have laying around.
3.Large METAL garage shelving units
4. WE TAKE FISH TOO! Tired of the whole things and want it all gone? I will take it all!
We are located in Canton, I will schedule pick up routes 2-3 weekends a month. I can pick up any of the listed items within a 40 mile radius (Peoria, Pekin, Bartonville, Farmington, etc).
It’s just the beginning y’all! We have so much potential, if I work hard enough I should have one room outfitted and running by summer! We’ve got 2 rooms equaling a whopping 1000-1200 sqft. But they need revamping before use.
We had another donation! Looks to be a 29 gallon tank with a few platy, molly, glow fish, swordtails, guppy and a dwarf frog! Their were some decorations in it but I revamped it with some I had laying around and heavily cleaned it up (running two filters currently to help) and I added some mystery snails over to eat away at the algae for dinner lol. ❤️
A small update on our little snail tank! Can you spot the new living thing in here?
We were able to pick up these donations this week! This is a great start to the rebuild and we are highly appreciative to our new and amazing community for being so supportive. We got 3 - 55 gallon tanks and 1 stand, a 40 gallon breeder, (not pictured) 29 gal and some gravel and equipment, and the 5 gal snail tank.
Small update: We’ve had a few tanks donated to us already! And we have a few left to pick up. Pictured is the only running tank (5 gal) that was donated with everything live inside ❤️ don’t mind the extra filters as we’ve been slowly working to improve their water quality the last few days.
We have made a sudden move, but don’t worry we are working on getting back up and running! we are aiming for being back open before summer.
Coming soon in central Illinois!
We have baby golden saddle neocardinia shrimp! Only problem… They are so small you can’t really see them on camera. I will update pictures once they are actually visible 🙂
Danio, albino bristlenose pleco, mystery snails, and ramshorn snail all shown (and available for purchase).
I am currently available if you’d like to purchase any of our available stock
(Monday now-8pm, Tuesday 8am-8pm, and Wednesday 8am-8pm.
Message me to set an appointment 🙂
