After some long line recall work, my pack got to race around the kennel exercise yard (kennel is empty for a few hours).

Recall is so important for your dog to be at 100% always! This could save their life and you a lot of stress!

Congratulations to Lincoln on his graduation last night! He actually finished a while ago (scheduling😂)He also passed his CGC test last month! Way to to buddy boy!!! I’m so proud of you!
He gets to go to school with his mommy now and is doing great!
Thank you for trusting me on this journey! I’m going to miss you both!

Proud moment for Cocoa and Mandy as they graduated after intense training, which included mastering recall, drop, and off commands. Kudos to these littermates for a job well done!
We did 4 private lessons prior to their 2 week stay with me and they mastered all the other basics!
We will continue to work on advanced training starting in January!

Beginning January 1st, 2024, derWachter will be closed on Sundays and all major holidays for drop offs, pick ups, training and grooming. Please plan accordingly when planning vacations/etc.

Pick up times 8-10a
Our kennel is very rarely not full and we need time to properly sanitize each area in between dogs.

🐾🐾time to brag on this sweet girl and her family! 🐾🐾
Oakley was rescued by her mom and dad back in April (she was found wandering close to their home). They kept her in their barn at first because they were having a tough time getting close to her and needed to gain her trust. They called me in August and we started working in September. Our first session was at my building. They had to carry her in because she was petrified and wouldn’t tolerate being on a leash. . We did a quick consult and I decided it would be best to work at her house for a bit. We did 1/2 hour sessions/week for 3 months.
Fast forward to today…look at this girl! On a leash, following commands at a park!👏
👏👏👏
To say I’m proud of her and her parents is an understatement!!! She does have a doggie sister that’s been her moral support at every session. 🤍

Congratulations to my buddy Dingo on graduating tonght! This boy did amazing here and is going to be so missed! His recall was at 100% (my absolute favorite to teach 😂) and his basic commands were at 90-95%!! Way to go buddy boy! Keep being a great boy!🖤🤍🤎

Congratulations knuckles (I called him Knucks 👊😊) on his graduation yesterday!!! He was at derWachter for 2 weeks and did great, considering his energy level…hello, he’s a husky! I worked on impulse control and all the basics. We struggled a bit with the formal sessions, but when I incorporated the commands in his day, he did great. I told his momma at pick up…one word…patience! 🤣🤣
He’s going to continue doing great, I just know it! I’ll miss you Knucks!

It took 48 hours but this gentle giant finally goes in and out of the kennel on his own. It took time, patience and positive reinforcement. (And a lot of me sitting out in the cold to get him to really trust me 🤎). He is doing so great with commands today and there’s no doubt that he will master them all!

derWachter’s plan of action concerning the recent uptick in respiratory illness in the canine world.

I reached out to my vet this morning and was told to keep doing what we are doing.

1-all dogs must be UTD on vaccines including for kennel cough.

2-all of our runs are sanitized daily.

3-dogs do not play together unless they are from the same family.

4-our kennel has an exhaust system that kicks on every 30 minutes, 24 hours a day.

5-all toys are sanitized daily.

6-if your dog shows any signs of sickness, they will not be able to stay here.

There have been no cases in the area. Keep your pups away from dogs that may not be vaccinated or from out of the area. There are a lot of dogs coming up from the south!

I see so many posts regarding missing/lost dogs. Please please teach your dog recall. This is so important. They need to be at 100%. They come the FIRST time you call, regardless of distractions! They come immediately. My professional opinion, this is the MOST important command! Need help learning the BEST method? Pm me!

Your dog can be your baby and still behave!
Why don’t people get this?! If you don’t set boundaries and rules, you’re doing NO favors for your dog! My dogs will not misbehave at the vet, pull my arm off when we go for walks or guard any of their things.

Get your dog trained before these behaviors appear!

Sully loves it here at derWachter!

It’s getting real here at derWachter! 🥳🥳 5 days and our new/bigger/better kennel arrives. We are so excited to better serve you and your fur babes! My board and train is booked until end of November. Our walk through is October 14 from 2-4. Dogs welcome on leash please! We are now taking grooming appts. Pm for more info regarding our board/train program, private lessons, behavior modification, boarding and grooming! This is our 3rd expansion in 2.5 years and none of this would be possible without the trust you’ve put in us (and a little 😉 hard work and a lot of Gods blessings!) Hope to see y’all on the 14th!
