ADOPTION 🐶
Adoption cost per dog is $99.00 (puppies under 6 months of age are $150.00). We do adopt out of county/ state, the adoption fee will be $14 less because you will not receive a Stark dog license. The adoption fee includes the following: Stark OH license good for this calendar year, DA2PP, Bordetella vaccine, Heartworm testing, dewormer, and spay/neuter. Flea treatment will be provided if fleas are noticed. All dogs will be spayed/neutered and microchipped before leaving the facility. An e-collar may be purchased for $15.00. Because most of our dogs were picked up as strays, we have no knowledge of any behavior or health issues. Stray dogs are held for 72 hours so that the owners have a chance to redeem them. After that time they are vetted and placed up for adoption.

All dogs listed as on HOLD are NOT available for viewing by the public, unless you are their owner.
Once a dog is no longer on HOLD, it is able to be viewed by the public, participate in meet & greets, and be adopted!
All dogs listed as OWNER REDEEM ONLY, means they will be adopted by the person who found them if the owner doesn't come forward. They will not be available for public adoption.
All dogs listed as MEDICAL HOLD, are not available for adoption until medically cleared by vet staff.

DID YOU KNOW YOU SHOULD NOT POUR COLD WATER ON AN OVERHEATED DOG OR PUT A WET TOWEL ON THEIR BACK❓❓
HERE’S WHAT YOU SHOULD DO:
Animal lovers, never make the mistake of throwing cold water on an overheated dog or putting a wet towel on his back, you will see the opposite effect.
Due to the cold, the veins contract and due to the high temperature (above 42 degrees), the proteins in the blood clot, which makes the blood thick and viscous.
Due to the combination of the two, the heart can no longer get the blood and the organs fail one by one due to lack of oxygen.
The result is a very slow but very painful death.
If you try to help an overheated dog in this way, he will still die.
First give lukewarm water to drink, then cool the soles of the feet and chest/lower abdomen with a damp towel, then put the dog in the shade on a damp towel.
Sharing is highly desirable because again and again we see images of overheated dogs getting out of a car with water poured on their backs.

With a good skin check, coat cut, nail trim, clean ears, and teeth squeaky clean you will have given our pups the best ending to their spa day experience.
