We held off as long as we could, but due to rising fees from card processors we have instituted a small fee when processing transactions via card. If you wish to avoid the fee we also accept cash and checks. Thank you so much for your understanding!
We are excited to announce that we have added a new groomer to the Peppermint Pet family and as such we are able to start accepting new clients again. We have appointments available as soon as next week and can get all your appointments booked through the end of the year!

Scheduling Update:
We are currently fully booked for the rest of June and all of July. Our first available appointment is the first full week in August. At this time we strongly suggest booking your next appointment before you leave your current appointment.
As of now we are unfortunately unable to accommodate new clients, as we prioritize getting our current clients scheduled in a timely manner.
We also now have our schedule available for the rest of the year, so if there are any specific dates you are hoping to get your pets groomed, feel free to give us a call.

Be Aware:
The building next to us is currently under construction. There are quite a few large trucks and lots of loud noises in the parking lot.
Be sure to have an extra hold on your pets on your way in, and consider carrying smaller dogs and using a harness on larger dogs in case they get scared by all of the commotion.

We are open this morning, but a few of our groomers are plowed in to their neighborhoods and won’t be able to make it in. If your appointment is affected we will be reaching out to you directly to reschedule.
If you’re unable to make it in, give us a call and we will get you rescheduled to an open appointment this week.

We are keeping a close eye on the forecast for the next few days, and as of now are planning on being open both Friday and Saturday but depending on the snow we may need to close early tomorrow or cancel all appointments Saturday.
If you have an appointment either day, keep an eye on our Facebook and also look out for a call from us if we do need to move things around.
If you aren’t able to make it to your appointment safely, give us a call as early as you can and we will happily move you to our earliest available appointment. We always waive same day cancellation fees due to unsafe conditions, so please be safe and let us know if you won’t be able to make it in.

Whether your dog is a young puppy getting ready for his/her first groom ever or an older dog who has been coming for years, there are a few things you can do at home to make their grooming visit a little more comfortable for them: 1. Play with your dog’s ears and paws. Every dog that comes to our salon gets their ears cleaned and nails trimmed, so ensuring they are used to having their ears and paws touched is great! For ears you can touch them gently, lift the flaps, rub behind their ears, and gently massage at the base of the ear. For paws you can practice holding their paws, or for bonus points you can gently brush their paws with an old electric tooth brush to get them used to the vibrations of a Dremel. 2. Hold your dog’s face. Dogs are used to getting pet on the head, but most aren’t used to having their head held still like we need to trim those beautiful faces, so you can practice holding their head in your hands to help them get used to it. 3. Get them used to the sounds of clippers/blow dryers. One of the most common things that makes dogs nervous at a grooming studio is the noises. We use electric clippers and blow dryers for various parts of their grooms, and getting them used to those sounds in a more familiar environment can go a long way to making them feel more comfortable!
