Want to introduce everyone to our latest RRR horse.
Every year we try to find 1-2 horses that have not been dealt the best hand in life. RRR stands for rescue, rehab, rehome. Now we are not a true rescue but we want to do our part in helping atleast a few animals when we can. We acquired Aries in middle of July of this year. He has been with us just over 3 months now. We have gotten his teeth done, wormed him, feet, plus lots of love and care. We were not sure how old he was when we got him. Turns out he is only 4-4.5 and still has a couple of his baby teeth. Despite his condition he has shown nothing but love to everyone. We just started riding him some and there is nothing he won’t do. Whether he stays here with us or finds his forever home once he’s fully rehabbed atleast we know we have done everything we can to turn his life around. This gentle giant (stands about 16.1 hands) deserves all the love and attention from here on out and we will make sure he gets it. We also want to thank all of our customers new and repeats because it’s you all that help us be able to provide the care to not only our horses but to those that need just a little tlc to shine.

Was an exciting morning at Georgia Frontiers today. As most of our customers know we rescue about 1/2 of our horses. They usually come from bad homes, auction,or slaughter facilities. On June 22, 2024 we rescued a draft mare from auction in Tennessee. She had an infected leg that we treated as soon as we got home. Over the last 2 months or so she has put on weight and started taking out rides. Last Monday we had the vet out to look at her for suspected mastitis. Turns out we actually ended up coming home from auction with 2 unintentionally… 🫣 around 4am this morning she had her baby. He is a long legged healthy boy. It was quite the shock for all of us. This is one of the millions of things that can happen when rescuing a horse that you have zero history on. Why she ended up at auction in the first place we will never know. What we do know is that she and her baby will be treated the way they always should be now that they are in our care.

No tack or people needed for our guys. They willingly follow along on a game of follow the leader. Love our goofy herd. Coda is of course in the lead hoping there might be some treats at the end. Weather is beautiful and a great time to ride. Call/text us at 6782348852 to set up a ride today.

Well someone has decided to use our name and try to scam people. If anyone sees this please understand it is SCAM and 100% not related to us. They try to get your personal info and account access for direct deposit only to take your money. I have reported already. Anyone who has ridden with us knows all our guides are volunteers. If you also see this please report. Thanks, Jessica

Horse of the month
Coda
Coda is an approximately 16 year old qh gelding. He is a 14.3 hands tall chestnut with a bid white blaze down his face. Coda has been a part of Georgia frontiers since June of 2019. Prior to coming here he was owned by a previous lesson student of mine and her family for about a year and a half. Coda was originally acquired by them after being sent to auction and getting purchased by a kill buyer in Alabama. He was posted for sale on Craigslist which is where they first saw him. We were not aware of the situation he was in until we arrived at the barn. He was underweight, hooves were grown out, and someone had cut most of his tail off. After negotiating price on him they brought him home. Their daughter did barrel racing with him for a while but needed a step up horse. We traded a horse we had here at Georgia frontiers for him and we both believe we got the better end of the trade! 😊 Coda very quickly learned that if he was a perfect boy he would mostly take out kids. Over the years with us he has taken out a few hundred people(mostly under 14yrs old) on trails. We have always joked around about cloning him. He is such a sweetheart and one of the easiest horses to ride and be around in general. If you have a young rider/scared rider/ or need someone to put your 90 year old grandmother on coda is probably your guy. Come meet him and the rest of the herd! They also won’t mind if you bring them a carrot or two.

** first 3 photos and last photo are of him with the family that rescued him from slaughter. Posted with permission

Horse of the month

Bella
Bella is a 13 year old mare. Her mom was a quarter horse and her dad was a Friesian/paint. She was born at a horse rescue in Tallahassee Florida after her mother was impounded due to neglect. The property they seized the horses from had other horses who had already passed away. When they first rescued her mom ( Scarlett ) they did not know she was pregnant. She already had a 6 month old c**t at her side that she was caring for. Amazingly enough all three survived this ordeal and have moved on the have great lives. I bought Bella when she was only 4 months old. We picked her up once she was weaned at 6 months. Originally she was to be a hunter/jumper horse. However, Bella had other plans and discovered it was easier to knock them over rather than jumping them. About 5 years ago Bella came out here to Georgia frontiers to be a trail horse. Although she has a few typical mare attributes like wanting to eat, not liking boys behind her, or being a minimalist, she is an awesome trail horse. She does whatever she can to keep her rider safe and has no intention of going anywhere in a hurry. If you are looking for a laid back easy going girl to ride she might just be for you.

Horse of the month!
We are going to start recognizing/giving background on one of our horses each month. Wanting to use this as an educational platform for all of you to ask any questions you may have about that horse or any others. General horse questions are also welcome.

May horse of the month
Everyone meet Simon. Simon is one of our newer members of the herd. He is a sweet guy who just likes to take things slow and follow his friends along the trails. He is about 14 years old and only about 14.3 hands so he is one of the shorter horses at Georgia frontiers. We acquired Simon early 2024. He came to us after being shipped from one auction house to another for the 6 months prior to coming here. We know he originally went through an auction in Mississippi in September of 2023. Since that time we know there were atleast 3 other auctions that he went through. Simon, like most auction horses, just needed a soft place to land. We believe he was tossed around and not wanted due to the fact that he is what we call a roarer (similar to a person snoring). Although this does not hinder his ability to do trails with us he was tossed aside by countless homes because he is not “perfect”. All the stress and lack of consistent food caused him to loose weight and he came to us about 150lbs underweight. Simon is just one of about 6 of our horses that have come from either auctions or homes where they were neglected. Since coming to us he has learned what treats are and that he can settle in because we are not going to just toss him out to the next auction. Come meet Simon and the rest of our herd. They also won’t object to a treat or two after your ride.
