elves, we understand the importance of a warm, comfy bed for our dogs, cats, or any other family pet, as well as the decorative aspect of form and function. Each bed has had a previous function before being re-designed into a Cozy Posh Pet Bed. Some may have been a coffee table, or night stand, or even a suit case. We look for and purchase vintage pieces that have character and visual appeal. Once we have found that special piece, the creative process begins. The piece is studied to determine how we want the bed to be re-designed. The piece is then disassembled, stripped down to bare material, re-engineered into the new design, sanded, and refinished. Two coats of clear urethane are then added for appearance and durability. The next step is to make the cushion and cover. We use high quality materials for the cushions, using designer fabrics, high density foam, and heavy duty stitching. For instance, the foam is covered in a cotton batting, then covered with PUL (polyester/polyurethane laminated) knit fabric. This fabric is waterproof so that the mattress is protected from any type of accidents your dog or cat may have. Simply wipe clean with a warm cloth and mild detergent. The mattress cover is made of high quality designer fabric, and is lined on the inside with cotton fabric to help with normal wear and tear. Also, the mattress cover is easily opened and closed with a covered zipper to prevent the zipper from scratching the bed, and is hidden from your pet. With our suit case beds, we take great strides to retain any interesting flaws or natural markings of each piece, as it only adds character to the bed. A great deal of time and effort is put into each piece to create the highest quality luxury bed for your fur baby to curl up into, and for you to proudly display in your home.
