Training does not have to be boring. Today at Bits & Bytes Farm we had an obstacle course set up. We did a lot of leg yielding, half halts, simulating x-c ditch jumping, and gate opening. All of the obstacles were easy to do but also challenging. The course was set up so that horses/riders of different skill levels could compete. Cowgirls Pride was the youngest horse competing and she handled the course like a pro! Tomorrow we are heading out to do some real x-c training.
Just another day of despook training at Bits & Bytes Farm with Cowgirls Pride.
DAY FIVE UPDATE: Seven degrees this morning. Yesterday never made it above 25. There was a new layer of ice in the hole but it was easy to open. See the ice layers in the comments. Fame is enjoying a nice 'cold one' this morning.

Trace the lineage of your Thoroughbred
Do you know that all Thoroughbreds go back to one of three foundation stallions? Use www.pedigreequery.com to search your Thoroughbred's pedigree and see which sire line it belongs to. Watch the video to see how easy this is to do. You follow the tail-male line by clicking on the furthest sire to the top right of your horse's pedigree. Keep clicking to go all the way back to the foundation sire.
The history of Thoroughbred horses can be traced back to the late 17th and early 18th centuries in England when the breed was systematically developed through careful breeding and selection. The foundation of the Thoroughbred breed can be attributed to three influential Arabian stallions, known as the "Byerley Turk," the "Darley Arabian," and the "Godolphin Arabian." These three stallions are considered the foundation sires of the Thoroughbred breed, and their bloodlines continue to influence the modern Thoroughbred.
The Byerley Turk (c. 1678): The Byerley Turk is believed to have been captured during the Battle of Buda in Hungary in the late 17th century by Captain Robert Byerley, an English army officer. The horse was brought to England and used as a warhorse. After Captain Byerley's death, the horse's bloodline was perpetuated by subsequent owners and breeders. He is credited with being one of the three founding sires of the Thoroughbred breed, although his influence is not as strong as the other two stallions.
The Darley Arabian (c. 1700): The Darley Arabian was brought to England by Thomas Darley, an Englishman who acquired the stallion in Syria. The Darley Arabian had a significant impact on the development of the Thoroughbred breed and is considered one of the most influential foundation sires. Many notable racehorses, including Eclipse, trace their lineage back to the Darley Arabian.
The Godolphin Arabian (c. 1724): The Godolphin Arabian, also known as the Godolphin Barb, was acquired by Edward Coke, the 2nd Earl of Godolphin. This stallion was bred in Yemen and
