This weekend was filled with heartfelt moments for the Blue Ribbon family. Our very own Fontaine Bowie received the prestigious MHJA Board Member of the Year award. We all celebrated her achievements with applause and a standing ovation! We are so thankful for the years she has shared with us and provided such a nurturing place to ride for so many.
Along with this honor, we witnessed riders from all area barns cross the stage to receive their ribbons with smiles beaming from their faces.

What a treasure and blessing it was to have this wonderful girl in our barn for so many years! She was a staple in our program and was loved by many. Her gentle nature and kind, brown eyes will be greatly missed. Goodbyes are never easy. Rest well our sweet girl.

🎊🎊Meet amateur division trainer Lexi Sones🎊🎊

Hi Everyone! My name is Lexi Sones, I am seventeen, and I will be participating in the 2025 Heart of the Horse trainers challenge as an amateur trainer!

My equestrian journey first started when I was nine years old. I initially started taking lessons and showing in the hunter jumpers with an english barn right here in Canton, MS. When I was fourteen years old I found my way over to Mississippi Horses Rescue and from there I began to further develop my horse training and starting skills. It has been incredible to have the opportunity to learn and implement methods from some amazing trainers who have mentored me and taught me so much throughout the years.

My life has always been centered around the wellness of all of God’s beautiful creatures, and I am so grateful that he has blessed me with such amazing opportunities. Participating in the Heart of the Horse, and being able to give these rescue horses a new direction, is something that I am eternally thankful for. Everyone be on the lookout for my team’s page in January!
