THE HEAT IS HERE! Please put your horse first and ride responsibly, especially in the heat. Ride early or ride late. Pay attention to them and take time to properly cool your horse down when you do ride. Even better, take the day to groom and love on your horse instead of riding.

Keeping your horse cool and comfortable during periods of hot weather can help prevent heat issues including heat stress and heat stroke.

When people refer to a super star horse, it’s always the champions and the high money makers. Well let me tell you a story about a local super star horse, Lou aka Toi George. 🦄 We had the privilege of calling him our own acquiring him from his sweet owner, Mallory Allphin. She was his human and he had loved her dearly as they learned all about riding together.

Once he was with us, he again gave his whole heart. It was immediately discovered that he loved attention and loved children. He would gladly stand to be groomed, bathed, flowers braided in his mane or tail, painted on, or even dressed up. 🎠 He loved it all!! Everyone always loved sweet Lou; you couldn’t help but to love him. 💗Through the years, he taught beginners, children, and adults, helped others move up the ranks and even took others to championships. 🐴 He was always willing to step it up for an opportunity to strut his stuff!

He was the last of the “originals” at the barn. So it was especially hard to say goodbye to one of our own. Hug your babies a little tighter today. They deserve all the hugs we can give them!
