Dear Humble Creatures Family,

We wanted to let you know that our clinic will be closed on Friday, June 14th for our Annual Staff Recharge Day. Once a year, we take a day off to assist an area of need in our community. This year, we will be partnering with a local Food Bank to hand out meals to those who are in need.

"Help others without any reason and give without the expectation of receiving anything in return."

Not only are we helping those in our community, but we are also getting to spend quality time together as a team. We will be back in the office for regular business hours starting Monday, June 17th, from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.

We wanted to inform you that our dedicated team of Veterinarians and Registered Veterinary Technicians will be out of the office on Thursday, February 22nd, and Friday, February 23rd.

They will be attending the Midwest Veterinary Conference, an important event where they will be obtaining Continuing Education credits essential to maintaining their licensure. This ensures they stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in veterinary medicine, ultimately enhancing the quality of care they provide to your beloved pets.

However, please note that our office will remain open on Thursday, the 22nd, and Friday, the 23rd, for medication pick-ups and scheduling appointments.

Twenty three years ago, I walked into Canton Veterinary Hospital as a new Pre-Vet freshman in college and happened to snag a newly opened position working for Dr. Wade. We worked together through my 4 years of undergrad, making plans together to work together in the future as veterinarians. After being gone for the 4 years of vet school, I came back to Canton Vet as planned. We worked side by side for several years as veterinarians, but in the end, I felt I needed to step away. It was an amazingly difficult decision as I felt I was letting Dr Wade, a man who was like a father to me, down. However, it was the best decision I could have made. I focused on surgery and Humane/shelter work while getting experience in ER as well and worked on becoming the best, well rounded veterinarian that I can be. Once I settled down and had a daughter, we saw the need post-Covid for veterinary clinics, I decided to quickly open my own. Last year, things came full circle when Dr. Wade & I reunited! I bought his practice, making Canton Vet now Humble Creatures Veterinary Clinic. We combined our amazing staffs, and have spent the last year learning how to make things mesh! There have been a lot of changes, as we combined a high volume practice with a very calm, established general practice. We will continue to push forward to offer high quality, convenient medicine while trying to keep the prices as affordable as possible.
I say all of this to show those that love Dr. Wade that he will always be a part of us! He and I are different doctors, and we do not always see eye to eye on everything when it comes to handling cases (typical doctors!) However, he literally has helped form me as a doctor. He has made sure that I’ve stayed grounded and taught me to always use my gut. He’s reminded me to keep family first & to treat clients like family. So, please be patient with us, trust the process, and who knows? Maybe you’ll like us, too!! …including a new doctor! (More to come on that!)

This week is Dr. Wade’s last week before he leaves us for a MUCH DESERVED RETIREMENT, so please make him feel the love! And don’t worry! He’ll pop back in occasionally to fill in!
