Bex is a 6 month old standard poodle who came in to be spayed yesterday morning! It is routine practice that every animal receive a pre-anesthetic examination previous to any surgical procedure here at CVC. During Bexโ€™s pre-anesthetic exam, Dr. Rachel noticed that she indeed did have a small heart murmur that hadnโ€™t been noted on previous exams as a puppy. Bexโ€™s owners were notified immediately to be made aware of this discovery & made the decision to proceed with surgery. Thankfully, her owners had also agreed to run our pre-anesthetic blood panel to check & see how things were looking internally, so they could have better peace of mind before following through with the procedure! Bexโ€™s bloodwork looked spectacular and she recovered perfectly! With this knowledge, we can move forward having a blood level baseline of her โ€œnormalโ€ in case she gets sick in the future! The discovery of the murmur also allows us more knowledge to set her up for a life full of success moving forward!

Dr. Molly graduated from The Ohio State University in 2023. She is originally from north central Ohio where she grew up on her family's seed sales, row crop, cow-calf, and feedlot operation. She practices both small and large animal medicine, but has a special interest in large animal reproduction and medicine with a focus on embryo transfer technologies. She also greatly enjoys working with 4-H and FFA youth. Dr. Molly is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), American Embryo Transfer Association (AETA), Academy of Veterinary Consultants (AVC), American Association of Bovine Practitioners (AABP), American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP), and the Lewis Co Farm Bureau.

Our Story

Canton Veterinary Clinic has been serving the Canton area since 2003. Dr. Dan and Rachel Goehl bought the clinic and have grown their practice as the needs of their customers have grown. Since their start they have grown their practice to cover hundreds of miles between 2 clinics (Canton and Palmyra). The practice today has 7 full time doctors, 10 full time staff members, many other support staff members, who all help the clinic serve our patients large and small.

We have accrued many assets to better help serve. For small animals we have in-house blood/chemistry analyzers, x-ray machines, ophthalmoscopes, otoscopes, breeding ultrasound, surgery suite, and many more. For large animals we have a haul in facility, tip table, semen tanks and AI equipment, stocks, portable manual/hydraulic chutes, portable stocks, in-clinic bvd pi testing, and of course ultrasounds.
