We are free shaping and food luring into behaviors that will be imprinted as we go, lots of positive reinforcement. Foundation work is important for shaping those behaviors and having a solid base of obedience behaviors that will be imprinted lifelong and performed correctly and consistently.

Focus 👀 exercise with Grimm this morning. This is one of the first things we teach dogs in our program here at Canyon K9 Training. It's important for the dog to focus on the handler, which comes in handy for general behavior, listening skills, and safety of situations you may be in that you need your dog to focus on you and avoid a certain situation or distraction.

Grimm, our 2 week board and train pup is doing a great job at loose leash heel with not pushing on the handlers left leg. He is doing great at coming into a heel postion from a distance. He's such a good boy, not to mention smart and loves to work.

Sweet Mylo, our board and train pup went to town for some environmental exposure. He did a great job at working his obedience. Mylo is 6 mos old and getting ready for his new family.

Grimm did some recall work today in the side training yard, lots of scent out there, it was his first time to be out there, he did get distracted with all the new scents, but he followed through with his recall work. Good job, Grimm 💯👏. When we are competing with the environment, it makes it tough sometimes, but that's the purpose of practicing recall under distractions of the environment.

Cute little Apache came today for his puppy training lesson. He did such a great job. He is a super smart boy and so eager to work. His owners are doing a great job with him. We are so proud of Apache and his owners. He's a straight A student in puppy school. ❤️🐾💯

Powerhouse of a dog right here! Redbull has traveled to Texas and been here at Canyon K9 Training, we've had the privilege of watching him work. He is a fantastic boy loaded with power! The true definition of a working dog!

Rainy days muzzle fighting with the one and the only Redbull Vom Erdbeerlord. WHAT.. A.. DOG..!
This dog is as real as it gets. Yet, is still one of the most consistently performing sport and trial ready K9 out there. A fantastic house dog, and great family hiking buddy. But also, a finely crafted tool of war whenever call upon.

🇺🇲All American pup Mylo! 🇺🇲

Mylo is available for Adoption ❤️🐾❤️

Mylo is 6 mos old, he joined our 2-week board and train program to prepare him with obedience and good house mannerisms and behaviors to be ready for his new home. Mylo had 2 owners that failed him ,no fault of his, he's just a puppy. Our clients rescued him and wanted to do the right thing for him to get into a good home instead of being euthanized at the shelter. We started his training, and this pup is so smart and such a great dog. I'm so glad our clients saved him and invested in helping him get into a home 🏡. Mylo would make a great addition to any family, he loves children, he loves to play, he has great listening skills, he is crate trained, potty trained, he has already been neutered and up to date on all his vaccines including heartworm prevention. Canyon K9 Training is offering 1 Free private training lesson for Mylo and whomever Adopts him. Let's get Mylo his own family.

Grimm, our board and train guy, practicing some recall work this morning before it gets too hot. He is getting the hang of it and is starting to stay close to James instead of wandering off or being too distracted and ignoring the handler. He did great! 👏👏👏
