K-9 Outcast

At K-9 Outcast, we strive to build a stronger bond between trainer and dog. We teach basic and advanced obedience that couples with socialization.

We are dedicated dog trainers who will ensure your dog have the tools needed to behave in public. We also offer Bite work (protection) and Nose work (tracking and detection).

Last weekend we focused a lot on keeping our pups focused through distractions. This week we are going to focus on smooth transitions between positions while also maintaining focus!

We focus on a lot during dog training and it can sometimes feel overwhelming. We teach sitting commands for when we take our dogs out to eat, or are sitting at the house. We teach standing commands for when we are out in public or on walks. We teach heeling and movement commands so our dog can focus and listen during a walk. We teach off-leash training so our dogs will listen when we do not have physical control of them.
The reason we focus on all of these things, is so we can build a well-rounded dog who listens during all sutuations. We prioritize dogs safety, and being focused on the handler in all situations, can keep them safe.

We have changed our booking process on our website! All Private Lessons and Home Visits will need to be booked with a trainer, we will no longer be doing online bookings. We want to ensure we can make every lesson on time and give the customers the chance to book for as long as they need!

It is getting HOT in Florida! Let's do our best to keep our fur babies safe this summer!

It is super important to ensure your dog does not over work themselves in the heat and has proper water and shade outdoors. Keep your pups out of hot vehicles, if they can't go in the store, don't bring them on the drive. Always check the pavement for heat before taking your pup for a walk or get them protection for their feet!

A small tip, invest in some sunscreen safe for dogs. They can get sunburn too and it can be deadly for them.

Focusing a lot on Distractions this weekend! We want to make sure all our pups can listen and focua no matter what goes on around them.

Awesome photo dump of this past weekend! We started by doing some of our seated commands. We then challenged all the dogs to do the same commands while standing. We ended class with some obstacles and stations. All the dogs did amazing getting out of their comfort zone!

Our next class will be March 29th at 10am! We will not have an 11am class or Sunday classes. Regular class schedule will resume April 5th!

There are many phases of a dogs training. Puppies and new dogs to training should be imprinted into commands through luring whereas more advanced dogs need to use their brains and work for the reward. This weekend we put the dogs to a test. We tried to see what commands our pups would do without needing to be lured and if our pups would still respond if our backs were turned.

This past weekend we had a blast working on our focus! None of the dogs had any issues looking at their handlers instead of the other dogs in class. We even made some noise and extra distractions. Amazing work by all our awesome dog teams!

Every dog, no matter a working dog or just a "pet" has a job. Giving your dog a job, no matter how simple it is, builds a relationship and a bond. We love all of our pups!

This past weekend we did things a little different. We did the entire class in motion. Every time we moved from one side to another, we made the dogs either auto sit, focus heel, go into a position while in motion, or change position in motion.

Amazing work done by all our dog teams! We are so proud of how far all of you are progressing with your obedience!

As dog trainers, we encourage our clients to see how our dogs act. If anyone is looking for a dog trainer, please ask to see the trainers dogs. Are they happy, are they well behaved, are they afraid of their handler? All of these are important questions to get answered before choosing a trainer.

It is important to realize the proper socialization for your pup. So many people get dogs, go to dog parks and wonder why their dog becomes "aggressive". So many wonder why their dog is reactive to different noises, people with sunglasses or hats, or children.

Proper socialization is getting your pup exposed to as much as possible. Maintaining good behavior during exposure and being able to execute commands. Building confidence in your dog is better than them being able to run in a dog park.

Classes have been growing. We are now creating two separate class plans for our new dogs and our more intermediate dogs. This weekend we are focusing on a recall command to different positions and then adding movement right after the recall.

Next weekend we are going to be adding obstacles to our recall movement!

This weekend we took all of our commands and made the handlers work. Whispering or not making any noise and still asking our dogs to do commands is a whole new challenge. If a dog can focus on hand signs or whispers, it means the dog has complete focus on the handler. A dog has to work twice as hard to watch for the handlers sign or listen to the handlers when speaking softly, especially if the surrounding area is loud.
