If anyone has a bunny directly from my barn (born in my barn) or a decendant of one from my barn id love to see photos! I no longer raise bunnies and could use a dose of baby bunny cuteness ❤️

Has any of my followers with pages recived a notice like this? Im thinking it may be a hacking scam of some sort? I havent posted on my page in nearly a year so it wouldnt make since for them to flag it now?

I dont raise bunnies anymore but still like visiting my page occasionally for memories and would hate to loose it if its a legitimate notification.

I officially closed my Rabbitry back in August of this year. I still periodically get people messaging asking if i have any bunnies available and iv just ben directing them to barns iv sold my lines to in the past however I thought maybe a general post would be faster.

So if you raise the same varieties of MINI REX that i did please drop the link to your Rabbitry’s page. Alot of people that are contacting me are looking for lines other than Diamond Haze because they have those lines already.

Example:

South East Missouri
Mini rex - tri, harlequin, and magpie in all base color varieties.

Last night was an emotional night because i had to say goodbye to my sweet bunny Maggie. Maggie is the bunny that made my Rabbitry what it was. She was my first EVER magpie AND one of my very first mini rex. Her temperament was what i strived to achieve with all of my bunnies. If i was upset it was as if she knew and she would let me hold her as long as i needed. She was also one of the silliest bunnies iv ever had when it came to snack time… her favorite was bananas but she always gobbled up any treats that i gave her… well except for carrots she wasn’t a big fan of those. She passed last night due to unknown complications that made her deteriorate from her normal self to almost lifeless in just 24-48hours… she had no outward explanations so im suspecting something internally or possibly even cancer due to her age…

love ya my sweet Maggie girl thankyou for over 4years of being one of the nicest bunnies iv ever had the joy of meeting ❤️ 7-20-18 ~ 10-18-22

Unfortunately plans have changed yet again and we will be permanently closing our rabbitry… this is not a decision iv made lightly, I have spent nearly a month trying to decide what I could do and i have determined that this is the most reasonable solution.

Given the unfortunate circumstances most will have to go to pet homes, but I do have about 10left that can go to other barns.

I will be keeping a few that im extra attached to back for my own personal pets, but there will still be around 40-50 needing to hop elsewhere.
All of their prices are incredibly low for my lines, but i did this so that they can hopefully get into homes faster. I would prefer not to work with transports unless its one set for this month.

There has been a confirmed case of RHDV2 in Leavenworth County, Kansas which backs right up to the Missouri border… The infected rabbit was a house rabbit. So the owners are not involved in 4H or ARBA shows. Hopefully, as with the other cases of house rabbits this will be an isolated incident.

Leavenworth County is only 34 miles from KCMO which is typically a place that alot of transports stop in. So if you haven’t already you need to practice good bio security!

The Quarantine zone the last time I checked is considered a 50mile radius… which is in the picture.

Bio security:
- Do not put rabbits on the ground
- Don't allow visitors to your rabbitry/property
- Try to limit how many caretakers go into your barn (for our barn personally I only allow my self and one other person in the barn)
- buy a cheap pair of shoes that you assign specifically for your barn/property.
- If you bring in new rabbits from anywhere but especially out of state/via transport make extra sure to quarantine the rabbit(s) away from your herd for a minimum of 20-30days… also make sure you are not cross using any tool between them (feed scoops, clippers, brushes…ect).

This illness is extremely dangerous and can kill entire herds in just a few days so please dont just brush this warning off! It can be tracked in on shoes, cages/equipment, tires, wild rabbits, and even by flys! There is also a theory going around that since house pets are known to be given a lot of fruits and vegetables that this may be a source of infection…. again this is just a theory but something to consider!

Crizalea had 2kits this morning but unfortunately despite her amazing nest making one of her kits looks to have ben DOA and the other was cold because of it… iv warmed it up and it’s looking like it will be ok so im trying to find it a foster momma as i dont think my 4 other does took... if i cant find a foster i will attempt to shelf it but iv never shelved a singleton before so not sure how well it will stay warm. It does have minir scratches on its back but all are superficial so they wont effect it long term…

Booted black/orange tri X lilac shaded magpie

Most likely a Rew or shaded/seal magpie since there is no markings yet, but tri and harliquin are also possible.

Summer and Winter Breaks:
- From November to January there will be a be a “Winter breeding Break”. This means that we will no longer have any kits born in December, January, or February. This will avoid shelfing litters in the winter, and make the winter chores easier with fewer bunnies to care for.
- From May to July there will be a “Summer breeding break”. This means that we will no longer have any kits born in June, July, or August. The Heat can be very hard for all rabbits especially the really young ones, so it helps them and it will make the summer care for the rabbits easier because there will be fewer.

New Breeding Plan:
- Each month I will breed 3pairs (3different does to 3different bucks). This will make it to where each doe has only one litter per year.

New Cage Sizes (20 total):
8 (30x30) - bucks/retired does
12 (24x48) - breeding age does/grow outs

New Breeding goals:
- Colors… main focus will be regular/sable magpies (booted/solid/broken) and Tri (booted/regular). Will have them In all 4 base colors.
- Temperament… this will be a even bigger focus than before. With fewer litters I will be able to spend more time getting the kits use to being held and carried for grooming, pictures… ect.
- Size… I will continue to breed my lines as small as I can. My end goal would be bucks that are 2-3lbs and does that are 3-4lbs.
- Coat quality… I will also continue to try to get the softest coats that I can. I do currently have a few with coats that are not the best but they are necessary for other qualities that I breed for… so they will stay for now.
- Type… this will hit some nerves im sure but this is the decision I have came to. While I wont be disregarding type all together its not going to be prioritized over my other goals. Iv found that the posts that most that raise the varietys that i do do not care for type as long as the rabbits has nice marks, small size, and a good coat hence as to why im prioritizing those qualities.

New Momma/Litter Schedules:
Nest boxs filled: day 25
Pictures: day 1
Pictures: week 2
Nest box removal: 3-4weeks
Pictures: week 4
1st Gender check: 4weeks
Pictures: week 6
2nd gender check: 6weeks
Pictures: week 8
Weaning: 8-10weeks
Bucks posted: 8-10weeks
Pictures week 10
Pictures week 12
Does posted:12-16weeks
Pictures 4months
Pictures 5months
Pictures 6months

New price range (25-100):
- Regular Magpies… booteds (50-100), brokens (30-50), solids (30-75).
- Shaded Magpies… booteds (50-100), brokens (30-75), solids (30-75)
- Booted Tri colors… (25-50)
- Regular Tri colors… (25-50)
- Harlequins (solid)… (25-30)
- Any other colors… (25-50)

What about Transports:
- I have no problem working with transports, HOWEVER I read up on all transports before agreeing to work with them if I find them un trustworthy I will decline to work with them.
- I will not ship/fly rabbits out of the US!
- I am willing to hold rabbits for transports when needed, but if the hold is longer than 2weeks (from weaning/date of deposit) then an extra $5 is added per week!

I want to start this post by reminding a few people who dont know me very well who the face behind this rabbitry is. My name is Autumn and I am the sole owner and operator of this page and the Rabbitry. I turned 19 last month and I have ben raising rabbits since I was 14years old. Even at 14 I built my Rabbitry from the ground up on my own. My rabbitry first started out with hutches made from wooden pallets and 2 mix breed rabbits from a feed store. From there I saved and gradually worked my way up to where I am now. Back then I would have never thought that I would eventually have rabbits that others liked so much that they would pay to have them sent to other states! When I started I was told that raising rabbits was not for the faint of heart and they were right. Iv since learned that most Rabbitrys close within the first 2years of operation, because its alot more physically, mentally, and financially draining than most could have imagined. I have struggled alot since 2018, and despite contemplating closing multiple times I pushed through, because while it is challenging at times it can be a very rewarding hobby…

Now having said all that this past week Iv put alot of thought into closing my Rabbitry permanently. Since April I have unexpectedly lost 3 rabbits that were extremely sentimental to me, so each one was very mentally draining for me. A few days ago I made a spontaneous post that said I had decided to close my Rabbitry. However since that day I have thought thoroughly about that decision and have came to a different conclusion…

You see the day I made that post I had just lost my 3rd extremely sentimental rabbit unexpectedly. That rabbits name is/was Gemma and somehow over night she had escaped her cage and disappeared with out a trace. After finding her cage empty I was very upset, then after spending 4+ hours searching our entire property with no luck I was even more upset…

After spending all that time looking and not finding anything I impulsively made a post saying that I had decided to close the Rabbitry. However had I gave my self time to calm down and actually look at the bigger picture I would not have made that exact post...

I have now decided after considering everything that I will NOT be permanently closing this Rabbitry. However I will not be continuing my Rabbitry as I have ben. Multiple rabbits are still being moved out this includes adults, growouts, and kits. I will be Making a second post shortly with all the new changes that will be happening with my Rabbitry.

Unfortunately Eliza lost her smallest (runt and likely fader kit) yesterday 😔. I figured it was just a matter of time as it was progressively getting weaker the past few days and hadn’t grown much at all since she was probably 2weeks old.

These are Junes and Frostys 7kits. They turned 8weeks old today and will be weaned this weekend.

They have rough coats at the moment but i put some pictures at the end to show how their fur will be once they loose their baby coat.

The last 3 kits im letting go now. The first 4 i will keep till they are 12-16weeks... but the blue and black magpie does will more than likely move on then as well.

The projected temps for the next 10days 🔥

Thankfully i dont have any does due since eliza kindled already… for those that do if yalls forcast looks similar to this you may want to throw some water bottles/tiles/veggie treats in the freezer now! Also If you have a tin roof above your barn throw a cheap sprinkler on top in the center and let in run for about 5minutes every 1-2hours durring the really hot parts of the day it cools our barn well!
