🌟Congrats to Katelyn, our September Star of the Month! 🌟 The team voted on who they felt has really stepped it up, and boy, has Katelyn done that. She’s taken on more responsibilities in the absence of four of our full-time teammates who are on maternity leave, and she’s done all of it with POSITIVITY, patience and kindness. Katelyn loves pets, and she is INCREDIBLE when it comes to talking to clients about their pet’s care. She is also extremely skilled in assisting the doctors with surgeries and helps teach her teammates along the way. We have no doubt Katelyn is working in the field she was born to be in—we’re grateful for her daily.

This Sunday, September 8, is your fur babies favorite day of the year😎 DOGGY SWIM DAY! Register today to secure your spot, they are almost full!

Dogs and humans can take a dip in the zero depth entry and lap pools at Cape Splash! All dogs must be on a leash when entering the facility and vaccinations are required. Humans are admitted FREE with a dog’s paid admission. Limit 2 dogs per human and small dogs can attend a larger dog session, but large dogs must attend designated session. Sessions (except private session) have a limit of 75 dogs. Aggressive dogs will be asked to leave.

12:30pm-1:30pm

Dogs 25-75 pounds:

One of our teammates asked if we could start up a Star of the Month, where the team votes who they feel has really stepped up lately. The winner will get a nice treat, etc. Well, how cool is it that we had to vote three times because we kept getting a TIE!?! Then, the high school senior who’s only worked with us for six months… WON!

BG's Deli “skins” — a Cape Girardeau classic.
On heavy orthopedic surgery days, we often order lunch in for our team from our backyard neighbors, BG’s Deli. Today, BG’s surprised us with a whole tray of cheesy, potato GOODNESS!

We want to give a great big THANKS to Hannah J., who has worked two and a half years with us as a kennel technician. That was her official title, but this bright young woman also took it upon herself to learn how to assist technicians and doctors in surgeries, prepare surgical packs, answer clients’ questions at the front desk and on the phones, and SO MUCH more. Outside our vet clinic, Hannah bolstered her resume and spent time volunteering for numerous animal science clubs at SEMO and even worked with Missouri Cattlemen’s and State Farm groups, learning the needs of producers and veterinarians. We will greatly miss Hannah as she soon heads to New York state for a year-long internship at the William H. Miner Agricultural Research Institute. We cannot wait to see the impact Ms. Hannah Jones will make in our field and in what capacity. She hopes to be a veterinarian one day! The whole Cape Small Animal clinic team is grateful she gave us her smile, dependability and devotion to pets and our team! Go get ‘em, Hannah! 🫶🐾

Please help us wish a Happy Birthday to Noah! He is one of our hard-working kennel technicians. We’ve never seen Noah without a smile on his face or a “can-do” attitude. He is a great young adult, and we’re so glad he’s chosen to work with us in veterinary medicine, as he finishes high school.
