Adopt JJ!

Here’s another update on JayJay, straight from the foster:

There is not a person that JayJay isn’t excited to see. Man, woman, friend who regularly visits or even a random Walmart employee loading the grocery order into the car. He just loves people. He will follow you from room to room and lay at your feet as you cook or do the dishes. He likes to keep an eye on you. If you make eye contact with him from across the room (you don’t even have to say anything!) he will come right up to you tail wagging, ready for pets. He doesn’t mind water — he’ll go outside in the rain or poke his head into the shower. He loves all kinds of toys, but the squeakier, the better. He has learned to sit on command and seems eager to learn more (he’s also very food motivated, but aren’t we all?) 😅.

He’s friendly with cats and dogs and doesn’t seem phased by squirrels or birds. He doesn’t bark much either. I would also stress, he’s beyond friendly and doesn’t like to be in a room without you, but is not a cuddle bug. He will curl up next to you for a minute or too, but then decide he’s had enough and lay across the room from you. The moment you say his name, he’ll come right back but he’s not clingy in the traditional sense.

He’s also got some puppy habits that still need some work — if you have a slipper, he will chew it. He likes to nibble on fingers when he’s excited, never hard or painful, but a bad habit nonetheless. I wouldn’t recommend him around tiny humans (under 5 years, maybe)? He would NEVER intentionally hurt them (or anyone) but I worry about the nibbling on tiny hands and although he isn’t “big” he is a heavy boy and in his excitement, could knock a small child off their feet without meaning to.
