We are excited to now offer shock wave therapy!! Shock wave is a noninvasive, high-energy sound wave treatment that is commonly used in human and veterinary medicine. It helps to relieve pain, speed up healing, and improve quality of healing!
Happy Vet Tech week to our amazing RVTs 🥰 Thank you for all the amazing work that you do. We couldn’t do any of it without you. #vettechweek2024 #thankyou #vettechlife
Here is a great example of a LPL (lateral patella luxation) before and after surgery! Lateral patella luxation (LPL) is a condition in which the patella, or knee-cap, no longer glides within its natural groove in the femur, the upper bone of the stifle or knee joint that can occur in dogs. It becomes displaced to the outside of the joint and can be partial or complete, intermittent or permanent. While medial patella luxation (MPL) is more common, it’s always interesting to see a LPL in practice!
TPLO before and after!! The purpose of the tibial plateau leveling osteotomy (TPLO) is to alter the shape of the knee so that there is no longer a need for the cranial cruciate ligament (CrCL). The top of the tibia is cut with a circular shaped blade to allow for rotation of the top of the tibia so that it can sit in a more level position. Once the top of the tibia is rotated to a level position, it is stabilized with a bone plate and screws. After a successful TPLO, the knee is mechanically stable with no need for the CrCL. Once the tibial bone heals (usually about 8 weeks), the majority of the healing from the surgery is done.
