🐾🖤 Senior Sweetheart Spotlight: Daly 🖤🐾
Meet Daly, a beautiful 12½-year-old black Labrador Retriever named after a mountain in Aspen — and just as special as her namesake. 🏔️✨ This sweet senior girl came in for her annual exam and completely stole our hearts (again). She was a little nervous, very polite, and 100% adorable in her “senior citizen era.” 🐶💕
Daly’s mom had some great questions about arthritis, stiffness, and mobility, which are very common concerns for our senior pups. Trouble getting up and down, soreness after longer walks, and difficulty with stairs are all classic signs of osteoarthritis and degenerative joint disease, and we spent time talking through all the ways we can help make Daly more comfortable.
💊 What We Discussed to Help Daily Feel Better:
We talked about joint supplements, anti-inflammatory medications, and the importance of doing lab work to make sure her body can safely handle long-term medications. We also discussed prescription joint-support diets (like J/D) that include glucosamine, chondroitin, and omega-3 fatty acids — which can be a great option because everything is built right into the food (and it saves you from juggling 17 different supplement bottles 😅).
We also talked about additional options like monthly joint injections, other pain-relief medications if needed, and how treatment plans can evolve as arthritis progresses to keep her as comfortable as possible.
⚖️ Weight Matters:
One of the biggest keys to helping arthritic dogs is keeping them at an optimal, lean weight. Extra pounds put extra pressure on already-tired joints, so maintaining a healthy weight makes a world of difference for comfort and mobility.
The best part? There are SO many ways to help our senior dogs feel better and move more freely — and we were so happy to send Daly home with a plan to help her feel more like herself again. 💕
She may be a little nervous, but she is also a certified cutie, a professional sweetheart, and a very good girl. Always. 🐾🖤

🎄✨ Happy Holidays, Gratitude & a Very Special Birthday ✨🎄
On this beautiful day, we want to take a moment to reflect on what truly matters — gratitude, kindness, and the people who make our days brighter. We are endlessly thankful for our incredible clients and patients who trust us with their beloved furry family members. You are the heart of what we do, and we are so grateful for each and every one of you. 💙🐾
Today is also a very special day for someone who means the world to our clinic — it’s Cheryl’s birthday! 🎂🎉 Our amazing practice manager celebrates her special day today, and while growing up with a holiday birthday can sometimes mean sharing the spotlight, today we want to make sure Cheryl is celebrated just for being her.
Cheryl is the glue that holds us together, the calm in the chaos, the problem-solver, the cheerleader, and the person who makes sure our team — and our patients — are always taken care of. We are so lucky to have her, and we are beyond grateful for everything she does, not just today, but every single day. 💫💐
So today we celebrate the magic of the holidays, the gift of gratitude, and Cheryl. We hope everyone is spending the day surrounded by love, laughter, friends, family, and maybe a few four-legged snuggles. 🐶🐱❤️
From all of us, Happy Howl-idays, Happy Meow-lidays and the happiest of birthdays, Cheryl! 🎄🎂✨

🎉 BIG CELEBRATION FOR MR. FRITZ! 🎉
This handsome goofball is Fritz, a 6½-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog tipping the scales at a mere 115 pounds 😉 — and we are THRILLED to share that he has officially finished his chemotherapy treatments! 🥳💪
For the past few months, Fritz has been coming to see us regularly for chemo, and what a journey it has been. HUGE props to his amazing mom for getting him everywhere he needed to be to make this outcome possible — teamwork makes the dream work! 👏💙
We were especially grateful to be able to help Fritz and his mom close to home, so they didn’t have to travel all the way down to the Front Range for treatment. Dr. Gisleson was more than happy to take this on, even though chemotherapy is very intensive and requires exact science, careful handling, and precise technique (especially with medications where accuracy is absolutely critical). 🧪✨
Thanks to knowledge passed down to our team — including from a former veterinarian oncologist who helped teach us proper chemo handling and protocols — we were proud and confident to be part of Fritz’s care.
And let’s not forget… Fritz is a three-legged Berner who is STILL happy as can be, goofy as ever, and an absolute JOY to see every time he walks through our doors. 🐶💫 The Christmas hat? Just the icing on the cake 🎄🎅
Seeing how well he tolerated treatment was the greatest gift to all of us. Congratulations, Mr. Fritz — we are cheering you on and wishing you nothing but the very best! 💙🐾

😼✨ Meet Pablo — The One-Sided Mustache King ✨😼
Say hello to Pablo, our 5-month-old silly boy who came in to get neutered (aka… tutored 🤭). Pablo looks like a little Siamese mix and was the picture of health — super friendly, extra lovey, and full of kitten charm. But the real star of the show? His one-sided “milk mustache.” 🥛😹 Only one side of his lip got the memo, and we are OBSESSED. Just look at the photos… it’s impossible not to smile!
One of our favorite pictures is Pablo snuggling with Chelsea, and honestly… it’s peak cuteness overload. 🐾📸
💙 Why Neutering Matters:
Neutering your cat is so important! It helps prevent unwanted litters, reduces roaming, spraying, and fighting behaviors, and keeps your kitty healthier long-term. Male cats can be neutered as early as 4–6 months of age, and it’s a quick, safe procedure for most healthy kittens.
Did you know? A female cat can have multiple litters per year — sometimes every few months — which means one unspayed cat can lead to dozens (and even hundreds) of kittens over time. That’s why spaying and neutering is such a big deal for controlling pet overpopulation and keeping shelters from becoming overwhelmed. 🐱💔
If cost is a concern, many local shelters and rescues offer low-cost or assistance programs to help make spaying and neutering more affordable. Reaching out to them can make a huge difference — for your pet and for your community.
Pablo may be “tutored,” but he’s still a graduate of Silly Kitty University with honors. 🎓😹

Meet 🐾✨Scrim🐾✨ a handsome 10-week-old Cane Corso who already weighs in at a solid 15 pounds… and trust us, he won’t be this small for long! 😍🐶 He traveled all the way from Arizona to see us and absolutely stole our hearts with his stunning brindle coat, soulful eyes, and the sweetest personality. Scrim rocked his puppy visit, loved his baby food like a true champ 🍽️, and was such a good boy for his exam!
We talked about the importance of deworming 🪱 and, most importantly, early socialization — introducing Scrim to all kinds of people, dogs, sounds, and environments. This is especially important for Cane Corsos so they grow into confident, well-adjusted adult dogs. We also recommended continuing his puppy vaccine series every 3–4 weeks until he’s at least 16 weeks of age to give him the best protection possible. We can’t wait to see him back in about a month and watch him grow! 📈🐾
🐕 About the Cane Corso:
Cane Corsos are powerful, intelligent, and deeply loyal dogs. As adults, they can grow to be 90–120+ pounds of pure muscle and love 💪❤️. They are known for being incredibly protective of their families, highly trainable, and very devoted companions. With proper training, socialization, and structure, they are calm, confident, and gentle with their people. They thrive when they have a job to do and a family to love — making them amazing companions for committed owners.
We are so excited to watch Scrim grow into the big, handsome boy he’s destined to be! 🐾

🎉🐾 Celebrating 6 Incredible Years with Dr. Jen Davis! 🐾🎉
We’re so excited to celebrate Dr. Jen Davis and her 6-year anniversary with us! She joined our team full-time in 2019, and it’s truly amazing how fast the time has flown by. 💙
The photo we’re sharing today perfectly captures who Dr. Davis is — a teacher at heart. In this sweet moment, she’s standing at the microscope with her daughter Spencer, showing her a urine sample and explaining what a bacterial infection looks like under the lens. 🧫🔬 Watching her teach so patiently and thoughtfully is a beautiful reflection of how she treats our team and our clients every single day.
Dr. Davis has a true gift for education and communication. If there’s ever a question about a diagnosis, treatment plan, or medication, she’s always there to explain, guide, and support. She keeps an open mind, welcomes thoughtful discussion, and is such a trusted sounding board for our doctors. Her kindness, wit, humor, and incredible depth of knowledge make her an absolute joy to work with. ✨
We are so thankful for her heart, her brain, and the light she brings to our team every day. Dr. Davis, we hope you know just how loved and appreciated you are! 💕

💜✨ Meet Miss Claire (aka Claire Bear) ✨💜
Little Miss Claire is officially a little over a year old, and wow… has she been through a lot in her first year of life! This brave girl started her journey as a tiny pup with a torn ACL, which was expertly repaired by Dr. Imhoff. After that hurdle, she surprised us with another adventure — a broken canine tooth!
Her mama, Dr. Gisleson, wanted to give that tooth the best chance possible, so Claire came to see our amazing, board-certified dental specialist, Dr. Marron. Instead of extracting the tooth, Dr. Marron performed a root canal to save it and topped it off with the cutest custom crown in the most perfect color ever… BLURPLE 💙💜 (a magical mix of blue and purple)!
Now when Claire smiles, you can see her adorable, sparkly Blurple tooth shining bright — and honestly, we’re obsessed. 😍🐾
Restorative dentistry isn’t for every pet, but when you want to save a tooth instead of removing it, Dr. Marron is the one you want on your team. We’re so lucky to offer advanced dental care right here for those more complicated mouth issues.
If you have dental questions or would like to schedule a consultation with one of our veterinarians or Dr. Marron, we’re here and happy to help! 🦷✨

As we close out the year, we’ve been reflecting on the many pets and people who walked through our doors. Every family’s journey is different, and we’re grateful to be part of yours.

Say hello to Asher 🖤🐾 — the sweetest little panther who recently came in to see us after being adopted from Colorado Animal Rescue (CARE)!
Just look at him in these photos with Dr. Gisleson… absolute showstopper. ✨
Asher has that sleek black coat with a stunning silver-white undercoat hidden beneath — like he’s wearing a secret tuxedo. He was handsome, charming, and had a personality that melted everyone in the clinic within seconds. 😻
Shelter pets like Asher are truly something special. If you’ve ever thought about adopting, fostering, volunteering, or donating — especially as we head into the holiday season — now is a wonderful time. ❤️
There are so many incredible animals waiting for a second chance and a loving home. Even fostering (as hard as it can be for those of us with soft hearts!) can change a life forever. And if fostering isn’t possible, shelters always need help with dog walking, donations, or simply spreading the word.
Amazing local rescues like:
🐾 Aspen Animal Shelter
🐾 Colorado Animal Rescue (CARE) – Asher’s alma mater 😉
🐾 Journey Home
🐾 Lucky Day Rescue
…and so many more both in and outside the valley would be thrilled to have your support.
Adopt if you can. Foster if you’re able. Support however you’re able — it all matters. 💛
Here’s to Asher, his new family, and all the pets still waiting for theirs. 🏡✨
