Dirty stinky puppy made his 2nd friend! He has 2 friends and 3 acquaintances now. Your puppy does not need to play and romp to be socializing. Simply being around other puppy safe dogs is also very important! Porkie is learning social skills through play and calm coexistence! Porkie needs a minute to warm up to the idea of a new dog so we are sure to go his pace and make sure he feels safe each outting.

We brought home this dirty, stinky puppy last week! After a looonnngggg time waiting the time has final come where we could get our own puppy! Meet Porkchop! He is an Australian Koolie! Our hopes for him are to first be a confident, happy, stable adventure buddy, try out some herding, canicross, and learn to sniff out our tortoise for fun (and if he ever escaped his outdoor enclosure to help us find him 🤣).

Baby girl Trix is living her best life in her new home! We delivered a special package from a client and a few goodies from us this am and watching Trix rummage through and pick out her faves was the highlight of my week! Next week we'll meet up for a playdate with her BFF ! So happy to still be apart of baby girls life and hear her updates each week 🥰

Trix has been waiting to announce.... after a year long search she found her person!!! We are over the moon that the perfect match found our baby girl! She is one special lady who stole all our hearts instantly. We are soaking in the final weeks caring for her while we slowly transition her into her new life! Keep an eye out for updates from Trix in her new life! Hint....there may be cows in her future 😜🤠

Little Otie was tuckered out after using his brain and trying to keep up with Maisy in the snow 🤣 puppyhood comes with new challenges each day it seems, our focus today was leash biting, jumping, name recall, all while having fun with our friend Maisy on a learning walk!

Trix has been waiting all weekend to share this news with you....she made a friend!!! Turns out Trix is quite the social gal! She won't love a dog park situation probably but she does love a good walk with her friend and yard playtime! She's ready to play with her second friend too we just have been focusing on chill for young Timbers training! He did so great even when little Trix tried tempting him to play with her 🤣 Baby dog is all tuckered after her walks and enjoys a cuddle or being brushed! Who will be Trixs 3rd friend?!

Baby dog enjoyed a feast of her own and peace and quiet! We originally planned to have her out with us at Thanksgiving and meet 2 new friends. After some thought we decided to have her sit this one out so that i could relax and not worry about having to train through anything or hold a leash until she was settled. For whoever needs to hear this: it is ok to take a management approach when that's best for you or the dog on a given day! She got to meet 1 new person yesterday and we decided that was enough for the day so I could relax and enjoy our company! She peacefully napped in her crate and then enjoyed a little treat of her own later!

Trix impatiently and then patiently awaiting her morning walk/training session 🤣 today's helper courtesy of . Trix did absolutely amazing today. Eager to get closer, but also taking her time and making wonderful choices all on her own again! She showed me how comfortable she was by her willingness to engage with toy play with me while Timber was close by! Hint: a stressed dog (unless they are so toy obessed its not a helpful indicator) cannot engage in play if they are also feeling concern! After a nice long recovery nap with her new bed she's ready for more playtime 🥰 looking forward to our next meet up!

Also very proud of and his family! They did so great today too! I could see a skill they have clearly worked hard on coming together in glimpses through his teenage mutant brain 🤣 when he matures and with more practice you can see just how solid this skill will become! Anyone with teens right now, hang in there and keep up the hard work! It will pay off in time even if it feels daunting now!

Trix is all tuckered out after her second official training set up! She worked so hard observing Addie from a distance she felt safe and made amazing choices all on her own! We slowly started to close the gap as she was showing interest in moving closer with loose body language! Who will be Trixs first friend?! Things we've learned this week:

-drive thrus to pick up special training snacks (ie plain cheese burgers) no problem!
-we still LOVE the car. Tries it get in every time we pass the car and even cars on the street 🤣
-I love my crate! I've been spending some more time alone during the day and I run to the crate on cue and fall asleep within minutes! I even wait quietly when my friends return until they come get me! A wonderful skill when you need to unload a few things before letting the dog out!
-I don't bark at things from inside the car!
-my biggest triggers seem to be the initial sight of things, AH! Thing in environment! Then with careful oberservation I'm learning these things aren't so bad and no need to bark!

Stay tuned for Trixs lineup of friends well be training with over the next month!

Baby girl is settling in and coming to life in all the best ways! She now comes to the front of the crate in the mornings wagging her tail, but still patiently waiting for me to let her out! She's still loving her quiet walks and is a breeze to walk 🥳 I've even started using a flexi leash with her because it's so easy and I don't need as much control as a regular leash offers me! Training wise we've learned:
-People on bikes are OK!
-People mowing lawns are ok!
-people I know coming in the house looking "weird" aka roommate in a boot for twisted ankle-totally fine! Bonus I don't bark when anyone comes home!
-I did an impromptu training session in the yard to work on barking at people outside my yard and I CRUSHED it. Within just 3 reps per person I realized there was no need to bark and just did my own thing!

Trix has her first training set ups this weekend! Stay tuned to hear how she does! We are so optimistic this smarty pants will catch on quick!

First full day with baby dog 🥰 what we learned today:

-she rarely pulls on leash (only when close to the car which may naturally fade as she trusts she's safe and will always go home). She's very responsive to my verbal and body language cues if I ask her to wait with me and don't move, she patiently waits with me until I release her. She was very responsive to name as well!
-She's wonderful on car rides.
-she's a great, chill yard supervisor (even when the dog across the street barks or dogs around the neighborhood)
-she's stil as silly and snuggly as ever
-she enjoys meeting new people who let her come to them and warms up immediately. She's also perfectly fine sitting on the sidelines quietly if needed!
-shed prefer sleeping in the bed with you, but will easily go to her crate if you ask her to do that instead!

Looking forward to what today brings. Morning coffee is definitely full of more laughs with her around!
