Have a chowhound?! We actually love when dog’s are treat motivated! It helps to make our job a bit easier, because we can use treats to train them to comply with things they may not love, such as nail trims, just so they can get a piece of a treat! We start by rewarding frequently (e.g. after trimming a couple nails), give a piece of treat, repeat. As they become conditioned to this, we can eventually lessen the amount of treats, but of course we still reward them for their good behavior. If your dog has a strict diet, we’re always happy to give treats you provide too! Mr. Cooper here knows exactly where I keep them and was clearly trying to tell me that he deserves one more since he was such a good boy for his groom! 😇 #chowhound #treatsfordogs #rewardbasedtraining #mobiledoggrooming
