We would like to introduce you all to Dr. Kelli Mills as she joins our team as a new Associate Veterinarian!!

Dr. Mills is a 2024 graduate of Midwestern University School of Veterinary Medicine in Arizona. Originally from Washington County, Maryland, Dr. Mills received her Bachelor's of Science Degree from Wilson College, Chamberburg in 2020.

When asked what inspired her to become a veterinarian her response is quick... Rocky! As a young girl she had to watch her beloved Rocky, her family's Boxer, become very sick, very suddenly and it was in that moment that she made the decision that she was going to be a Veterinarian and do all that she could to help other pets and their owners. Fast forward several years and she has done just that!

In her free time Dr. Mills enjoys reading and spending time with her family and friends, especially her fiance who she plans to Wed in September!

We hope you all love her as much as we do. We know she is very much looking forward to getting to meet and work with our amazing patients and their awesome owners!!

🐾 Riley joined us as a Front Desk CSR team member. She is super friendly, smart and loves all creatures great and small!
🐾 Mini joined us in the fall as a student intern to complete her college degree requirements as she finishes her studies to be a veterinary technician. We loved her so much that we asked her to stay and fortunate for us she said YES!!

After 19 years of caring for our patients just like they were her own, Linda is ready for retirement!! Today our team celebrated this next chapter with her and her family. Linda started with us when we operated solely as Newville Animal Hospital, she did make the move over to our Holly Pike office after we opened it and has been here ever since.We want to say Thank You for all you have done over the years...19 years is a long time but when you love what you do it doesn't seem quite so long!! Happy Retirement Linda, we love you and sure are going to miss you!!

As March approaches we look forward to celebrating 16 years providing veterinary care for the Carlisle Community! Where has the time gone... We have served so many amazing clients and their wonderful pets throughout those years. Some have only been with us a short time, others have been with us almost since the beginning. As we reflect on 16 years we realize that we have now reached a point where we have seen some pets as puppies and kittens, watched them grow over the years and now continue to get to see them through their senior years, What A Privilege & Honor!

Working in the veterinary field is not always easy, some days can be downright hard, those are the days that we realize that what we do matters! BUT THEN... We are once again reminded of all the amazing things that happen on a daily basis, those moments when we see pets doing better following treatment, pets whose quality of life has been improved because the owner allowed us to care for their pets providing what the pet needed and then following through at home with those recommended treatments, those puppies and kittens growing and maturing, those dogs who just want a belly rub or knows who gives the most cookies at the front desk, those cats who know just how to get the face rubs they are longing for, those kitties who love their Feliway towel and curl up and nap even though they are at the vets AND most importantly, those owner smiles because they simply love their pets and want what is best for them!

Not every day is perfect but it truly has been amazing so far. We look forward to continuing to provide care for our furry patients and we say THANK YOU to you, our Wonderful Clients, who continue to put your trust in us so that we can continue to do what we do every day... Love & Care for Your Pets!!

As a member of our team, you would be joining a dedicated and hard-working family (3 veterinarians and 19 support staff) who all share the same passion for what they do.

Responsibilities:
• Applicants must be skilled/trained in all aspects of anesthesia and patient monitoring, catheter placement, venipuncture, digital radiology, animal restraint and client/patient education
• Manage appointments: obtain histories, digital medical record keeping, client education, patient discharges, etc.
• Plan, organize, and manage the daily flow of services
• Client Communication
• Assist in patient procedures: preparation of patients, instruments, equipment and medications
• Inspire, teach, multitask and be a highly functional team member
• Collection and handling of laboratory samples
Qualifications:
• Prior veterinary experience or training preferred

• Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)
• Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

All candidates must complete an acceptable background check and pre-employment drug screening. Position does involve some evenings. Benefits include competitive hourly rate, health insurance (full-time), 401(k), vacation, uniform allowance and Continuing Education & Training.

Last month our team spent a morning together bonding and team building at our first ever Veterinary Team Olympics. We were thankful for a beautiful morning and a big back yard behind the office! We had so much fun! Here is a little glimpse of our morning!

Sometimes folks ask us "Why do we do what we do"? For the Love of Pets, That's Why!! And Here is each of our Team Member's Personal Why's!!

Parasite Testing IS Important! Imagine having a stomach full of these creepy crawly little worms, now imagine how that must feel when they all start doing this little wiggly dance in your pets belly... There are ways to detect, prevent and protect your beloved pet from these little nuisances. Fecal/Stool sample testing every 6 months as well as regular deworming for cats and monthly heartworm/parasite prevention for dogs will hopefully keep your pet healthy and parasite free!!

Here is a glimpse in to our week last week for Team Appreciation Week at both our Newville & Holly Pike offices. Our clients and patients are why we do what we do, last week we had a little bit of fun mixed in as we celebrated our team with a fun filled spirit week and kept them well fed with homemade daily meals by our Practice Manager Mindy.
