Blake π
This girl went through my board and train program a few weeks ago.
This week she is back while her family is out of town, to ensure she continues to keep her training foundation in top top shape while they are away.
Today I took my kids to the park, I took Blake, Liberty, and Thor with us .
What you are seeing in this video is what you will hear me refer to as a "warm up". This is a quick training session that I will do with a dog as soon as we get to the new location.
This helps ensure the dog and I are working happily together as a team before we try to co-exist with the distractions at that location.
Notice how I'm doing our warm up, using a small area to work back and forth in. I am not working her in a continuous straight line.
The reason for this is, I want her full attention. Walking a straight line makes it easy for your dog to focus on the distractions around them. Choose a small area, and do lots of turning and pace changes.
My attention is always on my dog, after all, I'm asking for their full attention, so it's important that I am engaging with, talking to, and rewarding my dog consistently throughout our training.
You have to become someone rewarding to engage with, and work forβ€οΈ
After our 5 minute workout, we headed back very to the playground, where she did a half hour down stay with our other 2 dogs while we watched the kids play.
I'm so pleased with this girl and how much she has learned over these past few weeks!

Dodger π
This boy has been through my board and train program in the past, and came back for boarding and some brush up training while his mom has been out of town.
He has been doing such an amazing job! I always look back to the beginning of Dodger and I's training adventure, and it's enough to bring tears to my eyes (happy, proud ones)! This boy was a tough one in the beginning! I couldn't even touch him for the first week he was with me! He has moved mountains!!!
We have really enjoyed our time with him this week!
Here's a look at his day today! He's going to sleep well tonight!π€£β€οΈ

I have lots of people ask me what a normal day looks like for their dog during their board and train stay with me. And I always tell them, there's obviously training involved every day, multiple times a day, but I also tell them, your dog LITERALLY becomes a part of my daily life and routines during its stay with me! Believe it or not, the video you are seeing is actually training in action as well!
Carver was put in a 100 ft leash while I worked on my new bird feeder station. This gave him the illusion and freedom of being off leash, safely. He got to play, be a dog, and work on random recalls from me, stay commands, leave it commands, and overall just learning to stay within eye sight of me while I worked! This boy is doing amazing!!
