SALTY DOG IS HIRING FOR AN ENTRY LEVEL BATHER/ASSISTANT!

Duties:
Cleaning salon (sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, scrubbing tubs)
Bathing and prepping dogs for the groomers as well as finishing your own bath dogs (double shampoo, conditioner, hand blow dry, brushing and combing, cleaning ears, externally expressing a**l glands, trimming and filing nails)
Helping with difficult pets
You 100% will be picking up poop/cleaning p*e and will end up pooped/p*ed on at least once
Requirements:
TEAM PLAYER
Must be reliable and punctual.
We have zero tolerance for customers who do not respect our time and hold employees to the same standard.
Must be able to lift 35lbs unassisted.
No drugs or showing up hungover.

It is imperative to the health of our staff and their families and the success of our business that any potential candidates are taking the pandemic seriously.
We have staff with pre-existing conditions and family members at home that we can not risk exposing to COVID19 as it could be detrimental to their health. We have serious social distancing measures in place and are doing no contact drop offs with customers.
***YOU MUST WEAR A MASK THIS IS NON NEGOTIABLE.***
(Ideally you should be wearing one as a bather anyway to protect your lungs from dander and hair during blowouts- even if there wasn’t a pandemic!) We encourage you to use reusable, washable cloth masks to be environmentally friendly but have disposable masks and gloves available if needed.
This is a very strenuous physical position, you will work hard, but it is an entry into an amazing career and this IS a position with potential for growth for the right candidate. If you have never worked in the animal industry, be prepared to be sore in places you never thought you could and you will be using muscles you didn’t know existed! We do not just play with puppies all day.

This may be a part time position in the beginning, but the salon is open 9am-5pm; Monday thru Friday. We close for all major holidays!

We usually do not accept applications from anyone without 2 years of animal experience but know many people are looking for a career change during this tough time and really want this opportunity to go to the right person.
We start new bathers at $12.50 DOE for the first 2 week probationary and we will evaluate your productivity and how fast you get the swing of things and raise as needed. You will get 100% of your tips from your bath dogs and 50% of the tip on full grooms you prep for the senior Groomers. Our clients tip very well.
Both the owner and manager started right where you would be over 15 years ago and are excited to be able to offer up this opportunity during such uncertain times.
Job Type: Part-time
Salary: $12.50 to $14.00 /hour
COVID-19 considerations:
Masks mandatory, curbside interactions with clients, increased cleaning schedule, payments done by online invoicing, no handling of client's belongings, no clients permitted inside the building.
