Paws On My Heart, Inc. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Indiana-based, feline rescue group. We always have many available cats up for adoption.

We are mostly foster-based, but we have some kitties staying in Carmel at Petco and at Pawz Pet Cafe! ***ALL AVAILABLE CATS***

Our cats are all spayed/neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on their FVR

CP (distemper) vaccines, and given general de-wormer. Most of our cats are FeLV/FIV tested, and rabies shots are given to most cats over 3 months old. Since we are a foster-based rescue, most of them are with a foster but there are always many the Carmel Petco Adoption Room (off 116th & Keystone) AND at Pawz Pet Cafe. For the foster cats, meetings can be arranged to meet the kitty of your dreams!

***We also bring in new groups of cats and kittens to Petco most Saturdays!!!!*** Come meet our furry friends, wonderful volunteers, and head Cat Rescue Lady, Martha Strong.

We work in Hamilton, Marion, and Delaware Counties, and many places in between. We do NOT support or allow declawing of our cats. We often have cats that come to us already declawed and can consider placing them in a family that prefers a declaw. Declawing often leads to behavior issues such as aggression and improper litter box habits, as well as stress on the cats’ feet and legs. We offer free nail trims for our adoptees at the Carmel Petco most Saturday afternoons. Our rescue's cats and kittens have led a mostly difficult life, so we require them to be indoor cats. 😡Abandoned!!😢 Lila was left behind in a duplex where her owner left her behind in his frenzy to move out. Fortunately the duplex neighbor saw her in the window and the maintenance guy let her go in and give her food and water 🍗🥛. She contacted a great organization that reached out to our rescue!! Come to find out there was actually Two Kitties there!! 🎀Lila and her sister Stella!🎀They are both beautiful girls and look well taken care of they just need a forever home where they are loved and spoiled👑‼️ They are both so friendly and grateful for love and attention. Let's give them them forever home🏡 they deserve! 💞

Jay Craig is our big boy that takes up a lot of space...in our hearts ♥️! He lounges like no other and will sometimes get swatty with the other cats around. Foster found!! Please apply and contact Martha for future kittens needing a place to hang out

Foster needed. These kittens were being given away on Facebook. Thankfully, the lady who had them let us rescue them rather than give them to people who might or might not get them spayed/neutered. Now, they have a chance. They need a foster either on Friday or Saturday, February 7 or 8. They will be getting spayed/neutered on Friday and will be ready to be adopted once they have their second shot, which will be around 2/25. There are three girls and three boys. Typically, the orange or buff in this case, are males. We are blessed to have two females. If you have applied to foster before and have an approved application, please contact us again. I was a stray in a small town where there were LOTS of cats. I was rescued from my outside home and taken to this rescue. At first, I didn't get along with the other cats. That is not true now!! I am a sweetheart, and one of my foster mom's favorites. I LOVE to sit on laps. I love to sit on my foster mom's lap for hours. I am fine with sharing her lap with other cats and a little dog. My favorite thing is to lay on my foster mom's lap and knead on her neck. If she has time, I then lay across her lap and sleep. I have a wonderful purr. I love to watch out the window and look for birds and wildlife. I have a sleek coat. I do not shed much. It is almost like my hair is knit together. I will be a great companion. I would rather be in a home with an adult or single person than a large group. I love toys of all kinds. I really love catnip kickers. I hope that you will want to meet me. 273 DAYS IN RESCUE…..

Here is a picture of our sweet Swan looking hard at the meaning of life. You see, she has spent the last 273 days in rescue. Sure, she has food, water- the basics! But she has not had a window for bird-watching, a lap to cuddle on, a bff for Monday night football, her very own family, a place to call her own. When she first went to Pawz Cat Cafe to await adoption, she would climb to the highest point on the highest cat tree. She was curious to see and experience everything. Now she has been moved to Carmel Petco on 116th St and she is waiting in a cage. How long can she wait until she gives up? Please help this little girl find the home she deserves.
