Owners can choose a 1 or 3 year vaccine at that time.

Protecting against upper respiratory tract disease, oral ulceration, and a highly contagious disease causing anorexia, vomiting, fever and severe diarrhea, FVRCP is a core vaccine that is generally given to kittens every three to four weeks until they are 16-20 weeks old and then a final booster after one year. After the first year, the vaccine only needs to be given every three years.

Distemper can be fatal and cause lasting effects, such chronic neurological issues or persistent seizures. Puppies can receive their first distemper vaccine as early as 6–8 weeks old. After that, they should receive additional doses every 2–4 weeks until they are 16 weeks old. This is to avoid interference with maternal antibodies, which can block MLV vaccines. Within one year of completing the initial series, puppies should receive a booster. After that, adult dogs should receive a booster every 1–3 years, depending on the vaccine

However, older unvaccinated dogs can also be susceptible. Get your puppy vaccinated! 🐢 Parvovirus vaccines start between 6 and 8 weeks and need to be boostered every 3-4 weeks until they are 16 weeks when antibodies from mom have faded. Parvo is boostered one year after the last of the puppy series, then every three years after that to protect your adult dogs.
