We are scheduled to have a meeting it Italian Grill on April 24 from 6-8. This meeting has been set so that we can discuss the election of board members that have shown interest in helping with board duties.

Once we have the board members elected we will schedule another meeting where we will discuss budgets and other board duties.

We would like to thank the ladies/gentlemen that spent time decorating the front entrance to North Hill. It looks great. We hope to continue this throughout the upcoming holidays.

We are now accepting volunteers/ nominees to join the North Hill POA. This is a volunteer position and no compensation will be made. We are looking for at least 3 people to fill the open positions but would love to have more. Please email the board at [email protected] if interested.

We are in the process of scheduling the annual meeting and hope to have details about that soon.

We have had numerous calls lately concerning the use of recreational vehicles being driven in the streets of North Hill. The POA has not given anyone permission to ride these vehicles on the roads and doing so is at your own risk. The roads are owned by the County and all laws and regulations set forth by the County should be adhered to at all times.

Accept this as a final notice to all residents

Residents of North Hill.

In order to keep the drainage by the pavilion up to county standards we are having to do some land work in that area for the next few weeks. We will have a section of the walking track removed in order to add an extra culvert and to re establish the correct slope for drainage. We will also be working in the current concrete spillway to control the erosion as well as adding a culvert to the retention pond to keep a constant level of water. In doing this the pond will have to be pumped down to a very low level and fishing will be effected.

Please bear with us while we get this work completed

Good morning all, Stephanie Russo attended the E-911 County Addressing Meeting on March 10 and brought the following information to us. All of this information was provided by Ms Carolyn Nelson, Pearl River County E 911 Coordinator, [email protected] Office: 601-403-2201, Cell: 601-463-0430

E911 Addressing Meeting

The County will be going through a merging of essential services throughout our 2 cities and county. The idea is that when you call 911 for an emergency, the dispatcher will have on a screen the combined information that will better tell the responding department as much information as has been uploaded into the Rapid SOS system. The Rapid SOS System will contain information from the county maps, E-911 information, law enforcement data (should there be an arrest warrant on someone at that address), and fire data on that property. This new system will assist in helping the owner and protecting the responder.

It’s quite an undertaking by the city and county governments to implement this system, but it starts with us! If you haven’t filled out the Pearl River County E 911 Address update form, you should. On this form is information pertinent to the occupants of a residence. In addition to name, address, and phone number, they are asking for a description of the house - to better locate the house visually, occupant’s names, and any medical issues that may affect an emergency call. The county is beginning to strictly enforce the county ordinance by making sure property owners have their residence clearly marked with address numbers on the house and if needed, address numbers at the end of a drive. The fine for this infraction is $50.

The utility companies servicing our area have agreed to NOT turn on utilities until a serial number has been assigned by the E-911 Addressing Dept. As REALTORS® we can do our part by including this form in a package for our new home owners to fill out at the closing table and then fax or email that form to the E-911 Addressing Dept. This form is not for just new property owners but renters, also. Many times, the owner of a rental property may leave the water and electric utilities under their name. But the new occupants or landlord should call the E-911 Addressing Dept and register the occupants.

Mary Kruppe has included this form in our MLS system under “Resources, Documents.” It is near the very bottom, along with current Voter Registration documents. Include this form in your closing documents, or leasing forms.

FYI – there are 1146 County owned roads, and 1347 Private roads in our county – approximately.
FYI – if there are 3 residential structures on the same private road – the road needs to be named.
FYI – effective 2/16/20 Kari’s Law went into effect. This law states that any building whose phone system requires a prefix number to be able to dial out, now recognizes that when 911 is dialed, the call goes directly to the emergency hotline, without the prefix number having to be pressed.
