Meet our adoptable kitty Otter, showing off his excellent taste in litter! World’s Best Cat Litter clumps, controls odor, and is corn-based! Swing by to meet Otter and see for yourself why this litter is our go-to for keeping the cafe clean and fresh! You can even snag a bag to take home for your own kitty (or bring home WITH Otter)!!

When we had the crazy idea of making a cat calendar including local businesses to benefit the CCAS, City Tavern Carrollton was a no-brainer because:

1 - Rich and Steph Weaver were the original owners of 302 South St. How could we NOT have the OG’s of our location included?!?!
2 - They’re our friends and are super supportive of our 4-legged friends! Fun fact: their previous restaurant, Max & Henry’s was named after their son and their dog 😍
3 - We knew it would be EPIC for Rich to have his picture taken with cats! Mostly because he’s kind of scared of felines…but we knew he would be a good sport for us, and at the very least, Steph would make him do it because it was for a good cause 😹

This joint was destined to be our November feature! Not only was the GREAT Rich Weaver born in November, he IS a Veteran, and his beloved brother was born on Veteran’s Day (just like our owner, Becky!). We are so thankful to Rich and Steph for their continued love and support of our country and our amazing little town! Over the years they have owned multiple successful restaurants and have continued to give back to our community! They donate to tons of organizations every year and City Tavern is “the go-to spot” for pre AND post-event hangouts. The next time you have a hankering for a cold beverage and the best burger in town, hit them up! Tell them Fur Babies sent you 😼

Meet Barbie and Skipper, our Shelter Pups of the Week! If these sisters look familiar, it’s because they were the only 2 pups not adopted at the recent adoption event at the UWG tailgate Saturday. These 9 month old sisters have grown up together at the shelter, and while they would be just as happy homed separately, we’d love to see them find a furever home together! Barbie is the more outgoing of the pair, and helps to bring Skipper out of her shyness! Both pups are amazing with other dogs and kids, and are so sweet and gentle.

Barbie is a little social butterfly who adores playtime with other dogs and can’t resist the excitement of meeting new friends. Cats are very exciting for her, but she’s never aggressive; she just really wants to play and could learn to be calm with a bit of training! Skipper is just as dog-loving and playful as Barbie but takes a more laid-back approach around cats, not paying them much attention. She’s a total sweetheart with a gentle, easygoing vibe. Both Barbie and Skipper have mastered leash walking and are incredibly easy to love. They’re ready to bring joy, snuggles, and endless playtime to a home of their own. We had the absolute joy of helping Carroll County Animal Shelter adopt out some pups at the UWG tailgate yesterday!! Out of the 4 dogs we brought, 2 found their furever homes (longtimer & previous Shelter Pup of the Week, Titan, and the shelter’s Office Pup of the Week, Eliza)!!! Stay tuned to mayyyybe see more adoptable doggos at upcoming UWG events!

Barney is still up for adoption at the shelter, and could really use y’all’s extra help in finding a home! He was featured in July, and has since been to 2 of our adoption events at Local Ties as well. Everyone’s first question is “why has he been there so long” and the simple answer is: no reason. He’s an all-around good dog, is 4 years young, and has no behavior issues or a reason for still being there; he just hasn’t been noticed by his furever person since arriving at the shelter in February.

It is absolutely impossible to not smile around this boy, anything and everything makes him so happy and brings his goofy smile out (and will likely bring yours out too)! Barney has a silly way of letting his tongue hang out sideways, crazy “out of the cage” zoomies that will leave you giggling, and loves giving kisses! He’s great with other dogs and kids, and is very curious about kitties! Barney gave Anna lots of kisses at Underground Books, ordered for us at Sprinkles, enjoyed his pup cup with our friends at Local Ties, and even posed for a pic at Green Lantern!

Meet Titan, our Adoptable Shelter Pup of the Week! This sweet boy is almost 2 years old and has spent almost his whole life at the shelter waiting for his forever home. Titan barks just to say hello when he gets excited, absolutely loves other dogs, is curious about cats, and wants to greet literally every single person he meets with kisses and a hug! His floppy ears and big baby eyes will steal your heart instantly!!! If you’ve ever heard of a job’s “personality hire”: he’d be your life’s personality hire!! He’s the ultimate passenger seat king in the car, and loves resting his head on the window. He loved giving the Underground Books staff lots of hugs (and trying on werewolf ears), devouring his pup cup at Local Ties, and dropping by the cat cafe to sniff around!! If you’re looking for the perfect personality hire to add joy, laughs, and energy to your life, Titan is your boy!! Please help us find him the loving family he’s been waiting for! (that was a lot of exclamation points but his energy is contagious so we’re leaving them)

Yes, we are a cat cafe, but we love helping the shelter pups too!! This video was just a quick walk-through taken yesterday of the adoptable pups outside at Carroll County Animal Shelter (the same place we get allllll our kitties from). There are a lot of stereotypes surrounding shelter animals, especially dogs, about how “you don’t know what you’re getting”. However, the shelter staff is very knowledgeable about their adoptable animals and can point you in the direction of whatever temperament or general breed you’re looking for! Everyone has already been fully vetted to their age, spayed/neutered, and microchipped.
