Mazie's Mission

Mazie's Mission Non profit veterinary hospital serving rescue groups and municipal shelters in the DFW area of Texas.
(227)

The Mission was founded in 2009 after our veterinarian volunteered at a puppy mill rescue... Fueling our desire is to build a safe haven for any animal in need. Mazie's is currently operating a veterinary hospital in a leased facility. We are looking for ~ 25 acres where the final hospital and adoption center will be built.

📸 You know you’re a Texan when your foster mom takes baby pictures of you in the bluebonnets!

We’re starting to accept applications 📋 for Annie’s pre-adoption! She’s so tiny and adorable, and she’s full of fun. It would be amazing if her forever family could have all these wonderful moments with her!

At about 6 weeks old, she’s pretty small, but we think she’ll grow up to be a medium-sized adult.

She’s been around cats and other dogs, and she does great 🥇 ! She basically just loves life!

❤️‍🩹 Sweet little Annie was just around 3 weeks old when she was all alone at the shelter, with no mom or siblings! A fantastic Mazie’s Mission foster stepped up and took her in. She had an upper respiratory infection and ringworm, which Mazie’s vets have treated with medication 💊 .

Now Annie enjoys exploring and living in a safe and loving foster home. If you’re interested in pre-adoption (Mazie’s will continue all of her medical care for free until she’s spayed and fully vaccinated), please let us know by applying to adopt at

This sweet mama was found as a stray and brought to one of our partner shelters. She has a broken leg that will require an amputation. No babies were found, but she appears to have given birth in recent weeks. This mama needs help ASAP or will have to be humanely euthanized at the shelter. Mazie’s Mission vet staff can get her all the medical help she needs, but not without a committed foster.

When you foster with Mazie’s Mission we provide all the medical care, food, crate, toys, etc. You provide the safe and loving home.

Please apply ASAP if you are local to DFW and would like to foster her 👇🏽

We are so proud to partner with Dallas Pets Alive to help pets like Mela and her sweet people! 🥰❤️

When Mela’s senior parents faced the heartbreaking reality of affording her urgent kidney stone surgery, our friends at of Texas referred them to us. Thanks to the PASS Program, we got Mela into our vet the same day for diagnostics and scheduled her surgery within a week! 💙

Not only did we remove a HUGE kidney stone, but we also gave Mela a much-needed dental cleaning to improve her quality of life. Now, she’s recovering comfortably at home with her loving family. 🏡💖

Her mom was overwhelmed with gratitude—she hated feeling helpless while Mela was in pain. Thanks to 's Mission, SPCA of Texas, and your support, we were able to cover the $1,300 cost of care and keep this family together.

This is what the PASS Program is all about—providing real solutions to keep pets out of shelters and in their homes, where they belong. PASS is the perfect definition of how compassion and collaboration saves lives.🐾✨

💔We still need a foster for this sweet boy 🙏

Manicotti was found as a stray, and fortunately a Good Samaritan brought him to the shelter for help. Let’s not let his story end at the shelter 😢 When he arrived at the shelter he had a broken back paw, bad ear infection, and was very skinny. He did not let his broken leg or lack of food deter his spirit and his desire to give and receive love.

💕 He could have been cranky from the pain, but Manicotti was and still is a love bug!  He is a purr machine! He likes everyone he meets, and has the most relaxed, laid back personality. When volunteers would walk by his kennel he would reach his paw out and meow with the hope that someone would open his kennel and pet him…and it worked a lot. He’s a favorite at the shelter with the cat volunteers!

Manicotti gets around extremely well on 3 legs, it doesn’t slow him down a bit. Manicotti is 5 years old, FIV positive (so would need to go to a foster with other FIV positive cats or be separate).

Mazie’s Mission Rescue vet staff 🏥 can help him with all of his medical needs to get him feeling better, but we must have a foster 🏠 in order to get him the medical care he needs.

If you are local to DFW and interested in fostering him, please reach out by applying below 👇🏽 . If you cannot foster, but want to help him please SHARE THIS POST! Somebody out there can foster him!

💗We welcomed Annie into the Mazie’s Mission Rescue family this week! 💔She was considered urgent at the shelter. She was set to be euthanized at the shelter the day we tagged her and picked her up! She is a just a few weeks old, and tiny!! She was a mess from having diarrhea at the shelter, so the first thing she needed after her Mazie’s Mission vet check up was a bath and snuggles with foster mom! Annie had a lot to say post bath, so make sure your sound is on! Stay tuned for updates!

🚨 We are searching for a foster for this 5 year old FIV positive boy 🚨He spent the weekend with shelter staff but that is only temporary and was due to his severe medical 🩺 state. This poor guy had a severe injury requiring his leg to be amputated, in addition he has an infection in his sc***um post neuter. ❤️‍🩹

🪟Brownie is an avid bird watcher, she has spent 2 years dedicated to the hobby. She can identify even the rarest species! …Ok, maybe not really…but she does love to lounge by the window watching them!

💗 Two year old adoptable Brownie is such a sweet girl! You’ll never wonder how much she loves you since her favorite pose is belly up gazing at you with those sweet eyes. She’s a pretty calm 2 year old so when you’re ready to relax 🛋️ , she’ll nuzzle right beside you. But when it’s playtime 🧶 , she’ll keep you smiling batting at a wand or jumping in a cat tunnel. She gets along great with other cats, too! She would do well in a home with or without cats.

Brownie is spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, combo test negative for cats, and f***l negative. If you think you could be Brownie’s new family, please let us know by applying 👇🏽

😍What’s not to love about this adoptable girl?

Fruity Pebbles is a fun girl who loves life, but she deserves a forever 🏡 of her own.

This girl came into a rural shelter at 5 weeks old with her mom and brother. 😢 Some people may not realize that rural shelter pets don’t get seen much by the public so it can take a looong time for them to get adopted. When Fruity Pebbles turned 10 months old the shelter reached out to us asking for help. Mazies Mission Rescue quickly found a foster placement for her, and helped her learn how to live in a home and be part of a family…she had only known the shelter!

Fruity Pebbles has flourished in foster care! She 💚s everyone, especially kids! She loves to play with other dogs, in fact, we really think she needs to have a dog friend in her forever home! She does well with cats, too! Click through the puppy photos from her days in the shelter and her one year pictures of her today!

🙏🏻 If you know anyone interested please share this post with them! Sharing and commenting will help this girl find her forever people!

🥭 60 ish pounds

Edit: Safe with Mazie’s Mission and he is a total sweetie!!🚨 Ollie is in need of a foster ASAP!

Ollie is a medical emergency situation, needing a foster home ASAP! ❤️‍🩹Poor Ollie was found as a stray dog with matted fur causing a ligature like injury from fur being wrapped around his leg. The X-rays 🩻do not look good, his poor leg will probably need amputation. He has definite bone loss around where the matting strangulated his foot 😔. The good news is that Mazie’s Mission Vets can help him, but we need a foster for him!

We don’t have much info on him other than the shelter estimates him to be about 6 years old and is heartworm negative 🙏🏻.

When you foster with Mazie’s Mission we provide all the medical care, food, crate, toys, etc. You provide the safe and loving home.

Please apply ASAP if you would like more info on fostering him 👇🏽

Help us in welcoming our newest member…. Gramps!

It was only because a wonderful family stepped up to foster, that we were able to commit to saving his life!

He is currently getting a full workup and into his foster home this evening.

We don’t know how long he has been suffering, but we do know that life is only going to get better from this day forward.

Gramps is part of an on going cruelty case, where thankfully, all of the animals were seized from the property.

We will keep you guys update Sir Gramps. We are so excited to have him in our program.

If you’d like to make a donation towards his care and/or supplies, you can do so through the donate button or by visiting our website to find our PayPal and Venmo.

Thank you all for your continued support!
