Mazie's Mission

Mazie's Mission Non profit veterinary hospital serving rescue groups and municipal shelters in the DFW area of Texas.
(228)

The Mission was founded in 2009 after our veterinarian volunteered at a puppy mill rescue... Fueling our desire is to build a safe haven for any animal in need. Mazie's is currently operating a veterinary hospital in a leased facility. We are looking for ~ 25 acres where the final hospital and adoption center will be built.

Edit: Safe with Mazie’s Mission! Freedom Ride pictures in comments!
‼️ This SENIOR boy was surrendered by his family😢 because they were moving! He is at one of our partner shelters, and we would love to rescue him, but need a foster to step up in order for us to help him! The shelter staff report he is super sweet and social! His owner reported him being fine with other dogs in the home so that’s a major plus!

At just around 12 pounds he loves to be carried around 🤗. He is already neutered, but his 🦷 are in awful shape! Mazie’s Mission vet staff can take care of that for him!

When fostering with Mazie’s Mission we provide all the food, toys, bedding, 🏥 medical care, etc. 💙The foster provides the safe and loving home.

Please let us know ASAP if you are local to DFW and can be his foster 👇🏽

☎️ Calling all puppy fosters!!! We would love to bring these 8 week old puppies into our rescue program ASAP!

Right now these babies are in a partner shelter, and that is no way for a puppy to start its life 😢 ! There is one boy and one girl! They need to be in a loving home that can show them what it’s like to be a part of a family! We provide the crate, food, toys, medical 🏥 care, etc while you provide the safe and loving 🏠 ! Soon they will be adoptable, and we have lots of fun events to take them to…hopefully resulting in a forever home quickly!

Fosters need to be local to 📍 DFW, but do not have need to have fostering experience. Please reach out to us ASAP if you are interested in learning more!

😱 Oh no! One of our adoption partners is having technical issues, as a result poor little Porter and Raihn’s adoption profiles aren’t getting seen! 🙏🏻 Please help them by sharing their photos so that hopefully someone will see them and want to adopt! Raihn and Porter are 7 month old kitties. They live together now, but do not have to be adopted together!

Raihn loves to 🧶 play and explore, and at times enjoys sitting back and watching the fun! He loves to cuddle in after a playtime! He gets along great with the other cats, and has even had exposure to dogs! ✅ Raihn is ready for his adoptive home, he is combo test negative, neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated!

Porter is a natural observer. He was more shy has a younger kitten but has really been coming out of his shell lately! He super sweet. In fact, he is a professional 🧸 cuddler! ! He gets along great with other cats and has also been exposed to dogs. ✅ Porter is ready for his adoptive home, he is combo test negative, neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated! !

If you are in the DFW area and interested in meeting either kitty let us know by applying 👇🏽

💤 Pumpkin’s got the right idea on this ☁️ day!

Pumpkin loves to play hard with her foster brother 🐶, then curl up on the sofa for snuggles! She has the cutest d***y look, but don’t let that fool you! She is a smart girl who loves training and enrichment games!

We knew she was special from the moment we rescued her from the shelter! Sweet little 🎃 Pumpkin had been surrendered to the shelter in bad shape. She had extensive hair loss and was super itchy. Despite being neglected her whole short life and feeling miserably, she was the sweetest thing to all the staff. The staff reached 📞 out to Mazie’s Mission Rescue asking for help 🚨 . One of our long-time fosters stepped up to take her in. That allowed our vets to start treating her right away! She had a nasty skin infection and was battling an upper respiratory infection 🤧 . Although her skin has improved, our veterinarians continue to go down the list of diet changes and treatments to get her exactly where she needs to be! We don’t want this to hold up her forever people finding her, so she will be at the adoption event this Saturday. If she gets adopted, our vets are committed to getting her in tiptop shape still! Come meet this special girl!

🐈 What pairs well with moving an entire vet clinic? Acquiring a clinic cat, of course!

When a partner shelter ☎️ Mazie’s Mission asking for help with this sick little boy, we just had to jump in and help him get better! He was very thin and was having bloody diarrhea 💩 . All of his f***l tests came back negative, but we found that his mouth looked swollen and painful. Our vets determined he was anemic and diagnosed him with stomatitis…a painful mouth condition!! 🤕 Stomatitis was causing him to eat less and lose weight. We got him on an antibiotic and an anti-inflammatory medication 💊 as well as a probiotic. He was given a diet of only soft foods to get him eating again.

He is really starting to feel better and is happy as can be at the clinic with us! He goes from playing in our new cat room to lounging 🛋️ in our Operation Manager’s office. Consistently keeping her entertained!

We couldn’t do this life-saving work without big and small donors. Please keep Mazie’s Mission Rescue Vet in mind when giving 💵 this year. The link to donate is below, or you can make a donation through Facebook by clicking the Donate button!

❄️ Bitter cold temperatures are on the way, but Fruity Pebbles is ready to keep you warm 💗! She doesn’t really understand personal space, doesn’t everyone want an affectionate dog by their side?

Fruity Pebbles spent the first 9 months of her life living in a rural shelter 😢 (meaning not many people were coming by to check her out for adoption). Learning to live outside the shelter has been an adjustment for her but she has made such wonderful progress 🏆 ! She is potty trained, crate trained (although she needs an adjustment period when crated in a new home), adores humans and kids, and 💗s other dogs!

She is spayed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated! Please help us search for her forever family by sharing this post. If you want more info on her let us know by messaging us or filling out an adoption application. 👇🏽

👀 Look who is ready for adoption!! Sweet Pato has had his neuter and microchip and is a healthy and happy boy!!! He is very friendly and affectionate with people and dogs, and doesn’t mind cats! He loves snuggles and playing.

When he first arrived from the shelter, Pato was unfortunately sick 🤒 with the Parvo virus. Now that treatment is complete and he feels great, he needs his forever people to come find him!

Let us know if you are interested, or share this post to help get the word out. 💕

❤️‍🩹 Kevin was scheduled to be euthanized the day Mazie’s Mission Rescue stepped in. His previous owner had let him run loose with his mom and dad, and when he got injured, they dumped the family at the shelter. 😡

This young dog was left injured and terrified in the shelter 💔 . He had big, open wounds on his body and could not bear any weight on his backend, so he couldn’t walk. When a seasoned Mazie’s Mission foster stepped up, we had a volunteer pick him up, literally, and bring him to our veterinarian hospital 🏥 to get his care started.

He was in so much pain and scared of everything. Our kind and patient medical staff evaluated him and determined he had road rash 😭, a dislocated right hip ❤️‍🩹, and hookworms.

He was started on antibiotics, dewormer 🪱, and daily hydrotherapy 🚿 to help the open wounds heal. Once he was healthy enough, we performed an FHO surgery and neuter. The FHO should have given him the relief needed, but he would still only bear weight on 3 legs. Fast forward to today, and he is getting physical therapy with the amazing Dr. Smallwood and her team at Integrative Veterinary Wellness. His incredible foster is doing daily at-home exercises and taking him to see Dr. Smallwood twice a week for intense physical therapy, including underwater treadmill work! 🐕 What should have been a simple fix has proven to be a little longer in the making, but we are with Kevin every step of the way💙!! We can't wait to see Kevin living his best life, moving around pain-free.

This is all very costly, but we will do whatever it takes to help him get better! If you would like to contribute to his 🏥 care, we would be incredibly grateful. You can donate through our website or through the Facebook Fundraiser.

🤔 Have you considered fostering, but can only do short term? Mazies Mission is looking for just that right now! Lots of our foster parents are traveling in the coming months, and their foster pets need a place to crash while they are away! 🐾 Zelda may interest you!!

She has a cute personality! She is mostly a chill dog, just play some fetch and games with her then settle in for a long movie on the 🛋️ with her!

💔 you may notice that Zelda is a tripod dog. Zelda had been shot with a 9mm handgun when we first took her in. 😢 x-rays revealed that the bullet entered Zelda's body on the front of her chest and struck her humerus with such force, her bone literally shattered like glass. It was in too many pieces for our surgeons to fix, so our only option was to amputation. 🏥

Despite all the pain Zelda was in, she has been the SWEETEST girl and only had tail wags and tiny kisses for our staff when we first rescued her. Fast forward to today and she is still just the sweetest girl! She no longer lives with pain and suffering, but she still needs the right home for her.

Are you in the DFW area and Interested in fostering or adopting her? 👇🏽

**Zelda needs to be kept separate from other pets. She doesn’t want walks as seeing other dogs really stresses her out!**
