This page is a page maintained by volunteers of the Carroll County Humane Society which is a non-profit organization and we do not have a facility. The Carroll County Humane Society's goal for this page is to bring publicity to the shelter animals in need of adoption. The shelter and the humane society are two different entities.

Come to PSP this Saturday to meet several adoptable shelter dogs.

Dash is all excited about going to Pet Supplies Plus for the adoption event on Saturday afternoon (noon until 3). He's a year old shepherd mix with a very sweet personality. We volunteers may need to keep a close eye on dear Dash, since the event will be held inside the store. He has a cute habit at the shelter of grabbing as many toys as he can find and piling them up together. Don't want him to clear the PSP shelves!

Come meet Dash and the other great doggos at PSP on Saturday, July 20th. And while you are there, maybe you could pick up a bag or two of pet food to donate to Empty Pet Bowls. We are accepting donations of food or money for the program at our adoption event. We can use all the help we can get to support pets in need so they don't wind up in the shelter themselves.

Whether you volunteer at the shelter or just love animals,
you'll want to attend the quarterly meeting of the humane society on Wednesday evening.

"Hey, Charlie, I've got big news. Don't let your family forget--- there's a meeting of the humane society tomorrow (Wednesday) at 6 PM. A dog trainer named Dee Wilkie will be doing a demonstration and answering questions about dog behavior and training. Maybe we should go with our "parents" so we can learn how to properly train them--- we all know the training is for the people, not the pups! And there will be snacks--- yum!"

Yes, the pups have the right idea. Come out to 102 Tuggle Street (on the corner of Tuggle and Maple) on April 3 for the CCHS quarterly meeting. You do not have to be a member to attend. Dee will have great tips for volunteers about how to deal with shelter dogs and will answer questions from the audience about training and behavior. In addition, we'll talk about upcoming events and programs (like our series of adoption events planned for Fur Babies cat cafe and our continuing Furst Furiday events at Horton's Bookstore) and how folks can help us help Carroll County animals.

Admission is free, so come spend an evening with your fellow animal lovers , enjoy some light refreshments, and learn about dog behavior from Dee, the owner/head trainer of Clever Canidae..
