🦃 Spring Turkey Hunting 📅
⭐ Ohio’s spring turkey season is split into two zones to align with the timing of turkey nesting in those regions. The south zone is the majority of Ohio, comprising 83 counties. The northeast zone includes Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, and Trumbull counties.

🚨 Statewide limit is one bearded turkey.

🔸 2025 Spring Season
⏺️ Youth: Saturday, April 12 to Sunday, April 13, 2025
⏺️ South Zone: Saturday, April 19 to Sunday, May 18, 2025
⏺️ Northeast Zone: Saturday, May 3 to Sunday, June 1, 2025

🦃 NEWS: Wild turkey hunters across Ohio have harvested 10,574 birds so far during the 2024 spring season.
⏺ Hunters checked an average of 9,214 turkeys during the same period in the previous three seasons (2021 to 2023).
⏺ Hunters harvested 10,351 birds through the same time in the spring of 2023.

🦃 NEWS: Ohio hunters checked 4,367 bearded wild turkeys during the opening weekend of the spring 2024 season.

📈 In 2023, hunters harvested 4,078 turkeys during the opening weekend. The three-year average during the first two days of the spring season from 2021 to 2023 is 3,758 birds. Not included in this year’s opening weekend results are the 1,785 wild turkeys taken during the youth-only weekend, April 13-14.

🦃 Ohio’s spring turkey season is a highly anticipated tradition that has occurred annually since 1966. 🙌

Youth: Saturday, April 13 and Sunday, April 14

Regular seasons are divided into two zones: the south zone, which opens to hunters on Saturday, April 20, and the northeast zone (Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, and Trumbull counties), which opens on Saturday, April 27.

The season limit is one bearded turkey.
