We’re excited to share that we have acquired a new mobile veterinary unit that will enable our non-profit to expand existing community vaccine clinics as well as bring veterinary services to shelter partners. The mobile unit started serving the community in July.

The new Operation Kindness mobile veterinary unit will provide us with an enclosed, temperature-regulated space to perform vaccinations and microchipping at clinics, which are often hosted outdoors to provide easy access for members of the community. The mobile unit will also help us with our partner shelter services, as many of its shelter partners do not have surgery suites in their buildings. Operation Kindness’ Community Initiatives team performed over 8,657 shelter and rescue spay/neuter surgeries last year.

“It is always our goal to help pets in the greatest need,” said Ed Jamison, CEO of Operation Kindness. “Operation Kindness’ new mobile unit will allow us to bring lifesaving care for animals to where it is needed most in the community.”

Staff from Operation Kindness attended the Best Friends Animal Society National Conference in Orlando, Florida this past month and had an incredible time learning and connecting with other animal welfare individuals from across the country. A big thank you to Julie Castle, CEO of Best Friends Animal Society, for recognizing Operation Kindness during the opening session.

Operation Kindness and Dallas Animal Services and Adoption Centerare partnering to provide free spay/neuter services for un-owned community cats to Dallas residents.

On Friday, July 26, Operation Kindness will accept 50 cats for spay/neuter surgery at our new Lifesaving Partnerships Hub at 1771 Terre Colony Ct, Dallas, TX 75212 (right down the street from Dallas Animal Services!). Cats must be dropped off in a humane trap.

Drop-off is at 7:00 AM and pick-up is at 3:30 PM. This event is for free-roaming, un-owned community cats only. No owned pets will be accepted.

Since our founding in 1976, Operation Kindness has saved more than 105,000 homeless animals. We take pride in our ability to treat and rehabilitate the dogs and cats in our care and give them the opportunity to experience a great quality of life. North Texas daily faces the challenge of how to tackle the homeless pet population issue. Operation Kindness serves as a partner for 47 municipal shelters and rescue groups who have animals in need of lifesaving medical care, or are simply low on space.
