The goal of Cane Rosso Rescue is to find homes for dogs who have been abandoned at shelters or whose owners who can no longer care for them. We are looking for fosters, adopters and volunteers who can help transport dogs to their homes. Donations are needed to pay for medical care and other expenses and can be made via PayPal at [email protected].

We are desperately in need of large and XL dog crates for our center and foster homes! 🆘

These crates are critical for our rescue pups—they provide a safe, cozy space where they can rest, recover, and feel secure as they wait for their forever families.

A young puppy found wandering on a busy highway, Willow was scared, confused, and didn’t know where to go or who to trust.

The finder, a past Cane Rosso Rescue adopter, did not want to take her to the overcrowded shelter, so they contacted us and we partnered with them to help her find her forever home.

🩷Willow is a happy, curious, playful pup. She is very intelligent and has adapted quickly to her foster home. She learned to use the dog door by observing the other dogs and follows them around all day.

🐶For anyone looking for a companion for their dog, she would thrive in a home with other dogs. Willow is very social and affectionate with people as well, she loves attention.

She plays with toys of every kind. She loves balls, but hasn’t yet learned to bring them back. She enjoys running around outside, and needs to be in a secure fence or on leash, as she is still learning to come when called.

She is house trained and can sit on command. She sleeps well in her bed on the floor. Her foster works with her daily on training and she is doing fantastic!

🎄 Saint is looking for his home for the holidays!

Found homeless and all alone, this little puppy didn’t stand a chance on a cold and rainy night last week. He’s a tiny little guy, only about 10 lbs right now.

A sweet foster family who wanted to “save dogs versus give gifts this year” agreed to care for him if we could find him a home, so of course we said YES! They named him Saint, as in Saint Nick 🎅.

❤️He is a darling puppy, doing all the fun puppy things and his puppy breath is in FULL FORCE!

He's been to the vet and we are now officially accepting applications to adopt him through Cane Rosso Rescue.

📣BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!
📣HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT!

We’ve got puppies on the way! ❤️🐾❤️🐾

Totally unexpected, OMG, shocking and surprising… all things we’ve said a million times as we learned that a recent rescue needed more than just herself to be saved….she is pregnant!

We pulled Clemetine as a final hour plea from the shelter before she was euthanized and had NO IDEA what her road ahead looked like, but her life mattered to us and we committed to helping her find a forever home.

🙈We definitely did not expect saving her to include being a mama and giving birth.

We are so, so thankful we said yes to her and saved not only this poor girl’s life, but those of her puppies too.

Stay tuned as we support Clementine through becoming a mama dog and work toward finding her and her future pups their perfect forever homes at Cane Rosso Rescue.

💔We have a sick dog that we said yes to in order to save his life. He is facing some serious health challenges and he needs us now. We want him to have a chance.

🥲Spot came to us as an emergency save because of his rapidly declining health. He was sick and alone in a shelter.

He faced euthanasia by the end of the day at a shelter if we didn’t act. Saying no wasn’t an option.

Without question, Spot needed us, so we said yes. Spot is now a Cane Rosso Rescue dog.

Spot is currently at our vet hospital with his bills mounting. He has pneumonia and a possible infection. He cannot breathe and has been getting nebulizing treatments to help him be more comfy.

🙏We are asking for donations to help us get Spot on the road to recovery and feeling better again. His life matters and he needs our help.

💔Sammy was in pre-euthanasia at a shelter in San Antonio due to “time and space” when we got the call that we could help him…. But only if we got him out of the shelter within 12 hours!

We moved mountains to save Sammy and make him a Cane Rosso Rescue dog. It took our village, and then a couple of cousins of the village and a neighbor friend and….. LOTS of people came together to save this awesome dog.

Finding dogs homes is what facilitates the next rescue dog being saved and Sammy needs to find his forever home so we can save more dogs.

🥲 Sammy has been with us for months…..months…. with no interest. We are confused, baffled, left wondering how we save more dogs when we can’t get an amazing boy like Sammy in a home.

❤️ Sammy is WONDERFUL! He is sweet, loving, loyal, well-behaved, playful, loves being outside, good with kids and dogs his size and bigger. We cannot express how much of an awesome dog Sammy is!

💔Abandoned and confused, Tucker didn’t stand a chance as a young puppy out in the heat of summer when he was dumped at a convenience store months ago.

Tucker was seen being dumped out of a vehicle near a very busy intersection, literally shoved out and the disgusting human driving simply drove off. The store attendant repeatedly saw it all and by sheer happenstance, an amazing CRR foster pulled in moments later.

Of course she scooped him right up and he became a Cane Rosso Rescue pup that day!

Tucker is full of life and adventure, loves road trips and lake life. He is playful and friendly with other dogs and thinks chew toys are the best thing happening. He’s a GREAT dog, very well trained and he’s ready to find his forever home!

Help please: We have a very special senior dog in need. If you’re thinking of adding a new pup or fostering a rescue dog, we have a great girl who needs some help.

💔Meet Addie. This sweet senior girl is in need of a foster or adopter ASAP. She has had no interest and no applications in the five months she’s been back with us and it breaks our hearts. 💔

She is the ultimate companion—she loves snuggles, couch time, walks and car ride adventures. Addie is low-maintenance and full of love, just waiting for a home to call her own.

Addie is a 3-legged tripod dog and gets along great! She can get on and off couches, human beds, go for walks, all of it. Being a tripod doesn’t stop her in the least.

Five years ago, Addie was found as an abandoned stray and became a Cane Rosso Rescue dog. She was adopted into what we thought would be her forever home where she would be cherished and loved.

🥲 Turns out, we were wrong. Fast forward to a few months ago, we got the call we dreaded – Addie had been found as a stray again.

Her previous adopters never reached out to us to return her, but instead dumped her to survive on the streets for six long months as a stray. Thankfully, her microchip led her back to us.

When we contacted them, they said they’d “given her away” months ago and didn’t want her back. Many, many angry and sad tears were shed over her abandonment and poor treatment as we drove to OK to pick her up and save her once again.

💜Now, Addie needs a home again. We want to make sure she never has to face abandonment again. She is full of love and deserves to be the queen of the castle in her new home.

What better way to kick-off our biggest fundraising weeks of the year than with saving some puppy lives!?! 🗓️ Today starts early giving for North Texas Giving Day and we’re starting off with a litter of puppies who desperately needed our help. After being seen in a drainage ditch, their poor mama killed by a car, these helpless souls were found by a Good Samaritan in rural MS. After knowing euthanasia was their fate at their small local shelter, the finder housed them, fed them and networked them to rescue, eventually getting to us. These poor kiddos had a TWO day transport to us here @canerossorescue from MS, a huge feat that took SIX driving legs of people to complete. The puppies are SO amazing and wonderful and looking for their forever homes! We think they’re hound mixes, Plott Hound, Red Bone Coonhound, maybe some Labrador mixed in. 3 3 males 💙 2 females 🩷 When you donate to our rescue for early giving of North Texas Giving Day, you’re contributing directly to saving lives like these.
