Cane Rosso Rescue 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds and building awareness for homeless dogs

The goal of Cane Rosso Rescue is to find homes for dogs who have been abandoned at shelters or whose owners who can no longer care for them. We are looking for fosters, adopters and volunteers who can help transport dogs to their homes. Donations are needed to pay for medical care and other expenses and can be made via PayPal at [email protected].

After almost 10 years of having a brick and mortar center, our landlord is not renewing our lease and we have taken the very hard decision not to look for an alternative location at this time. We are all devastated by this, as you can imagine, but we will be continuing our rescue foster program and are hopeful we can ramp up our foster network so we can continue to help more and more dogs every day!

We would like to use this opportunity to help out other rescues and will be holding an open house at the center on Saturday for any rescues who would like to come by and take any supplies they need.

PLEASE SHARE WITH ANY RESCUES YOU ARE AWARE OF ❤️

We have so much stuff (a small sample shown in the pics below) including:

- large kennels (will need dismantling) -ALL GONE
- food
- toys, leashes, harnesses and collars
- crates
- beds
- p*e pads and belly bands
- blankets and towels
- medical supplements and equipment
- coats
- grooming supplies etc etc

We will be at the center from 9am to noon @ 1421 West Main St, Carrollton on Saturday. We will be donating all the above to registered rescues. If you can take it you can have it ❤️. We will not be able to manage the inventory during the week so please, if you want any of the items, show up on Saturday.

We have some other items (general products) that we will be selling online or, if anyone is interested, can be purchased in person on Saturday - look for a separate post listing those items. Our hope is to raise some money from those items for our ongoing foster program.

We want to thank everyone who has worked, volunteered and visited our rescue center over the last 10 years. It’s been a helluva ride and we are so grateful for all the support, not to mention our amazing team who despite losing their jobs are working hard to get us over the finish line.

We are very focused on clearing the center at the moment but we will reach out soon with more updates and information.

Raven’s heart is broken and she’s in need of a home to feel loved and safe. After spending a year being loved by a wonderful family, she now finds herself homeless and facing the shelter again—through no fault of her own.
💔Raven’s parents made the heart-wrenching decision to try and find her a new home as a last resort after losing their own home, Raven’s home.

They are living with her in their car and they need help from us in doing what’s best for her…. Finding her a new home. They love her and this is a last resort.

Raven is confused, longing for the safety and warmth of a home. It’s a hard time for everyone and Cane Rosso Rescue will always help where we can.

We feel Sunny deserves a better life than she currently has. There is nothing we can do for her unless we have a foster in place.

Bottom line: fostering saves lives and we will have say no to her unless we have a commiCane Rosso Rescuein place.

We have a female yellow Labrador named Sunny in need of immediate rescue and we want to help. She lives outside in deplorable conditions and it isn’t a good life for her. She deserves love and companionship and a home to feel safe and secure in.

Update:: 💙Milo has found a home!

📣We have a Golden Retriever mix available for immediate adoption! 📣

This sweet boy is Milo! He was impounded and found himself at the city shelter with no home and in need of some help.

We had been alerted to him and were stepping into help him when he found a home and was adopted. Hooray for him!

Sadly, soon after he was adopted from the shelter, it was discovered he is not cat friendly, so he is now again looking for a home, this time with with us at Cane Rosso Rescue.

Pointer mix puppies and their mama found out in the cold in south Texas with no help in sight! They’ve been taken in by a Good Samaritan but they can’t keep them much longer.

🐶 Clementine’s puppies are getting bigger!

Our Christmas Eve puppies are so cute and changing every day! Their tiny eyes are open, they’re wiggling around exploring their world, they’re starting to eat soft food and starting to play……..and they’re absolutely adorable!

Mama Clementine has been the best mom, showering her babies with love and teaching them everything only a mama can.

A young puppy found wandering on a busy highway, Willow was scared, confused, and didn’t know where to go or who to trust.

🙏Her finder, a past Cane Rosso Rescue adopter, did not want to take her to the overcrowded shelter, so they contacted us and we partnered with them to help her find her forever home.

🩷Willow is a happy, curious, playful pup. She is very intelligent and has adapted quickly to her foster home. She learned to use the dog door by observing the other dogs and follows them around all day.

🐶For anyone looking for a companion for their dog, she would thrive in a home with other dogs. Willow is very social and affectionate with people as well, she loves attention.

She is house trained and knows all sorts of basic command. She sleeps well in her bed on the floor. Her foster family takes her to doggie daycare and she does GREAT!

🚨 FOSTERS OR ADOPTERS DESPERATELY NEEDED 🚨

Cane Rosso Rescue is at a breaking point.

Despite all our efforts, we cannot find homes for two incredible dogs who have been waiting far too long. They’re loving, deserving, and in need of a miracle, that needle-in-a-haystack type of home.

The shelter is no place for them—especially with the cold weather returning. We have NO HEAT, and these two are back to square one, just trying to stay warm and safe.

❣️If you’ve ever considered fostering or adopting, this is the time to act.

💔Riley needs a home! She has been with Cane Rosso Rescue far too long and has been amazing at her temporary foster home, “she’s the best and we can’t believe someone hasn’t adopted her” per her foster family!

🙏We don’t want to bring her back to the center. She’s loving life on a couch and snuggled up in bed! Someone has to want a really great dog who loves adventures, breweries, play time and is already used to being in a home.

Riley is crate trained, potty trained, loves walks and playing with toys. She is the ultimate couch/bed snuggler, that’s her comfort spot.

She’s super smart and learn quickly. She is an Australian Cattledog/Belgian Malinois mix and has great qualities of both breeds!

We never dreamed when we rescued Riley and her littermates, abandoned in a box on the side of a road in deep south Texas, that she would still be with us almost a year later.

Riley would be very successful as an only dog, so if you’re looking for a single dog to love, she’s your girl!

Cane Rosso Rescue is in search of a foster home or adopter for Mattie!

She was an “amazing guest” per her people at her temporary foster home during the snowstorm and we want to make that a reality for her every day…she needs a home!

She’s easy! We don’t say that often and it’s true for Mattie, she’s a very well-behaved dog who is used to living a home life. She hates the shelter and we want her to be in a home so badly.

❤️Mattie loves nothing more than to curl up and cuddle in soft blankets and beds, so that’s really all we ask, let her in the bed or on the couch to snuggle and she’s set.

💙Pointer/Hound mix Spot is now available for adoption!💙

After being rescued by Cane Rosso Rescue from euthanasia at a local shelter and getting treatment for a severe upper respiratory infection, Spot is healthy, happy and ready to find his new home.

💔This poor guy doesn’t seem to have had a lot of love or encouragement in his life and is careful so as not to do anything wrong. He is learning what a good boy he is and that his days of a hard life are over.

Spot is a sweet, gentle soul looking for someone to love him. He has blossomed into a fantastic adventure buddy, loves hiking and exploring new places and enjoys the company of his foster humans around him.

Spot currently is fostered with a cat and does great! He LOVES the couch and comfy spots, so that’s a must in his new home!

❣️This is the first time in 590 days that Rusty had set foot inside an actual home and not slept at our center. We will say it again….590 days Rusty has spent at our center.

He is over the moon to be in a home environment and has been on his best behavior to show just how good he is!

This is the first time we’ve ever had the chance to see him IN A REAL HOME! He’s absolutely thriving being inside and not at our center. He’s soaking up the love, learning routines, and showing what a fantastic and great companion he can be.

🧐Someone HAS to want a really fun, cool dog who is in need and an available for adoption. Where are his people?!??

Rusty has been with Cane Rosso Rescue for over a year, a close second in our longest term dog staying at our center. The center is a stopping point of safety, NOT a home for dogs, and we never intended to have him living there in a kennel for over a year.

Rusty needs to find his people and place in the world and he’s showing us during this snow break that he CAN DO IT!

Rusty would love nothing more than to be a companion, have a safe and secure roof over his head and be a cherished member of a family.

We are desperate to find Dan a permanent home of his own—he’s our longest-term dog and the Cane Rosso Rescue mascot we never wanted. 💔 The center was never meant to be his home, and he deserves so much more. 🏡

He’s thriving with soft fluffy beds, warm fireside chats, tasty treats, toys to play with and all the love he’s soaking up.

💙It’s clear how much he enjoys being part of a home, and we know he’s ready for something permanent.

🎉Update: Both girls have been saved and will be Cane Rosso rescue dogs! 🎉 🆘 Purebred Golden Retriever AND a GSP both in immediate need of rescue in south Texas kill shelter! Time sensitive! 🆘 We have been alerted that there is a female Golden Retriever and a female German Shorthaired Pointer both in immediate need at a small shelter in south Texas. 😭 No one showed up at the shelter for these two dogs today and they will be euthanized tomorrow if rescue is not in place for them by 10am.
