A few of our academy students recently participated in their very first Pony Club rally, "Everything But the Horse," where they competed as a team against other pony clubs from across the region. 🏆 And guess what? They finished 5th place! 🎉 This is an incredible achievement for such a young team. Way to go, kids! 👏

At Franktown Meadows Academy and Training Program, we’re proud to collaborate with community organizations to provide our students with a well-rounded experience in both riding and horsemanship. We believe this is essential to developing skilled, confident, and knowledgeable horse people. 🐴💫

Mike Moran was an integral part of the Franktown Meadows Hunter Derby. For 13 consecutive years, he served as the Master of Ceremonies, making the annual trek from Oklahoma to Reno, NV. Once on-site, Mike worked tirelessly to promote the event, using his knowledge of the sport and a quick study of the community to advocate for greater financial support for our charitable beneficiaries.

Mike was the face and voice of the charity in countless ways. Whether he was introducing volunteers and staff, interviewing enthusiastic young Pony Club members he saw as the future of our sport, or organizing exhibitors into Calcutta teams for auction, Mike was involved in every aspect. But what many didn’t know—and what I’ll share now—is that behind the scenes, Mike was a devoted fan of the International Hunter Derby Program. Through his introduction, EMO became a financial sponsor of the event. This sponsorship provided the credibility and exposure needed to host such a unique event. Mike loved the Franktown Meadows Hunter Derby because it was, to him, one of the best ways to showcase the talent and athleticism of the show hunters.

In 2024, the Franktown Meadows Hunter Derby stopped being hosted. In retrospect, this feels fitting, as the event simply wouldn’t be the same without Mike’s booming voice and unwavering presence.

Rest in peace, Mike. You will be dearly missed.

This sweet pony is one of Franktown Meadows Academy’s star school horses, teaching beginner riders from ages 3 to 13. Miss Moppet is a master at her job—whether it’s staying perfectly on the rail for little ones learning to post the trot or cruising through a cross-rail course with confidence. She’s patient, kind, and a true teacher at heart. 💛

At Franktown Meadows Academy, our school horses are the backbone of our program. As a USHJA Recognized Riding Academy, we offer hunter/jumper lessons for both adults and children, helping riders of all levels grow and succeed.

Even though we are geographically removed from the devastation of the fires in Southern California, the tragedy has deeply affected many of us here at Franktown Meadows. Some of our very own horses were directly impacted, and we are incredibly grateful that they were safely evacuated.

A heartfelt thank you to Cha Cha, who not only ensured their safety but is also the owner of Jigsaw Farms, a barn that tragically lost everything in the fires.

When you get an invitation to ride at Capital Challenge (even when it’s only five days out and you’re driving to a show 🤣), you have to say yes! MacLean’s first “indoor” experience on Cambridge far exceeded expectations. She was 6th 💚 over fences, 9th 🤍 in the handy, and 8th 🤎 in the WCHR Pony Challenge. This would not be possible without the support of SO MANY PEOPLE. @christa_rae_endicott and @pegasusshowstable for advocating for MacLean, @alisweeney, @stalcott, and @dannyarendt for the amazing opportunity and coaching, the Mercer family for their generosity and friendship, and @macleanlynne for always believing in MacLean.

We had a great group of kids test for their d1 certification. Congrats for all your hard work! And a special thanks to all the parents and FM staff who made this happen.

Fridays are eq days! Noah has been working extra hard to prep all the kids for the show season. And needless to say, the kids have been leaning in to learn.These clinic like sessions include setting a major medal course (this week, maclay 2023), watching Noah demonstrate (a visual is always great), and then working on eq course skills (this week, leading rein, landing on the correct lead after every jump, and getting the correct stride). @_sterlingsilverstable_@nkn_jumps@nkn_sporthorses@franktownmeadows@macleanlynne@nataliemari3_
