Catmandu Carson City

Catmandu Carson City Catmandu is a cage-free non-profit cat sanctuary and rescue at 1829 Brown Street in Carson City, NV. bio.link/momcat

We believe this a better way to care for homeless cats; allowing them to roam freely and be in charge of their daily lives rather than locking them in a cage. Catmandu exists for the welfare and benefit of kitties and animal lovers in our community.

From Street Survivor to Spoiled Queen: Xena’s Glow-Up!

Remember Xena, our fierce little warrior who fought through so much to get her second chance? Look at her now—healthy, HUGE, and absolutely stunning in her forever home! She’s living the dream, getting pampered (and bathed!) by her new feline sibling, proving that a little love and care can make all the difference.

From fragile to flourishing, Xena is the definition of a happy ending. Thank you to everyone who supported her journey—you helped make this transformation possible!

We’re looking for a cat-loving human who lives IN OR NEAR ELY, NEVADA that can occasionally check in on some kitties for us—snapping photos, getting updates, and helping us see if we can find them a furrever home out of Catmandu!

If you’re up for a little feline fieldwork, send us a message. The cats (and their future adopters) will thank you with head boops and happy purrs! 💛🐾

📸: Just a couple of our Catmandu sanctuary kitties keeping an eye on things (and looking adorable while they do it).

Not your normal shelter

Catmandu is a cage free home-between-homes and sanctuary for homeless cats. The cats mingle in large rooms, lounge on the catios, and play in the enclosed back yard. Some are hoping for new homes, others happily call Catmandu home. Surprisingly, everybody pretty much gets along and there are few cat fights. We tend to take a more natural and holistic approach whenever possible, but also use veterinarians as needed. We receive no government funding and rely on donations to fund the work that we do.
