Worrywarts
What can I do with my worries?
God’s Response
Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. 1 Peter 5:7
Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. Colossians 3:2
The people of Israel looked up and panicked when they saw the Egyptians overtaking them. They cried out to the LORD. . . . But Moses told the people, “Don’t be afraid. Just stand still and watch the LORD rescue you.” Exodus 14:10, 13
The first step in dealing with worry is to release it to the Lord in prayer. Hand it off for him to carry. The second step is to fix your thoughts on God’s power, not on the problems of life. Turn your attention away from negative, unbelieving thoughts to positive, constructive thoughts. The third step is to remind yourself of God’s faithfulness to you in the past. He is still in control of the world and can still handle your problems. Combat worry by remembering and trusting God’s promises and then move forward.
This Is Promising
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Philippians 4:6
