Trick or Treat!!! Halloween is a time for goodies. Caramel apples, pumpkin donuts, chocolates, and candy corn make for a delicious holiday. It is well known that chocolate can be toxic for our furry friends, but sugary candy can also pose risks for toxicity. Too much sugar can cause stomach upset, excessive thirst, and in severe cases electrolyte changes. If your concerned about a tasty treat your pet has consumed, please reach out to your local DVM or the ASPCA animal poison control for further help.

A bat has tested positive for Rabies on Kingston Hwy in Rome, GA. The bat has been captured and there are no other positive cases at this time.

Please make sure that your pet is up to date on their rabies vaccine! This vaccine is required by law and is the key to preventing the virus from spreading thorough out the community!
