I knew there was a marked difference when I would walk in the closed up barn when it was cold outside but I bought a thermometer to hang in the barn yesterday, which gave me two thermometers because the clock has one as well for accurate read outs in the barn. I am happy to report that this barn is so well-built that there was a 20° difference this morning. 26° outside and 46° in the barn when I walked in.  I was lucky to get a 5 to 10° difference at the old location.

And just like that summer is over and we prepare for the winter months. Horses got switched to day turnout today.

With hunting season upon us if anyone is wanting to walk the trails (mounted or on foot) please put on one of the three vests that Jeff and Danielle provided. Better safe than sorry. They are hanging on the bathroom doorknob in the tack room.

The other night was good lighting so I took some photos of the new location. I know all my boarders, who have seen it, have given their stamp of approval. I am enjoying being there too. So thankful this opportunity was given to me.

Happy to report the new location held up well in hurricane conditions. All horses are okay although the pasture puffs are a little water logged. (Yes ‘a little’ is an understatement 😆)

Due to the predicted weather, for tonight, which we all know can change for the better or worse, here is my plan for the horses for the next two days. They are coming in this morning to eat and will get turned back out. The stalled horses will stay in tonight and after breakfast tomorrow they will go out again for the day and come in to eat Friday night and go back out to their regular night turn out schedule.

These two are comfortable enough to lay down in the new barn. Now if others could follow suit so they can catch up on their much-needed (deep) sleep

Well JD was caught laying down yesterday so he is the second that we are aware of who has laid down at the new location.

So Astro was the first to lay down in his stall at the new barn. Wonder who will be second.

First full day at the new farm for the horses and there was a lot of talking going on from everybody, but I would say it went pretty well.
