OWNERS 🚨
Temperatures are increasing outside and we all need to be aware that Frenchies are heat sensitive!
Please share with new Frenchie owners
that might not be aware. Even though we know and we think everyone knows, they don't!
Share any advice you have in the comments.
Don't walk them in direct sunshine 🌞
Don't walk them in temps over 80 degrees
(sometimes less: watch them)
Don't let them play too hard, and if they even start to look overheated, get them to some cool/tepid (not cold) water
ASAP.
Because of their very short muzzles, they have trouble breathing, which means they also have trouble cooling themselves down when the weather is warm.
Recognizing early signs of heatstroke may help you remedy the condition before things get too serious. Early signs of heatstroke include heavy panting and rapid breathing, excessive drooling, dry mucous membranes, bright red gums and tongue, skin that's hot to the touch, and a higher heart rate..
