Out and about with the X III litter today! They are loving the big puppy yard— trails and foliage and sticks galore.
All of the X III litter is placed, but we do have male and female spots in the Y III litter that is 2.5 weeks old. Call for more information :)

The W IIIs are getting so big! They’re playing up a storm and learning plenty of pack manners— we keep them into nine weeks specifically for that reason. The change from feral, ravenous alligator puppies to somewhat composed, slightly less ravenous normal puppies seems to occur between seven and nine weeks. We opt to keep them longer for an improved buyer experience!

Ida III “Yogurt Nose” Jagdkönig 😆🐾
The X III litter is due any day! Ida, their mother, is the sweetest, funniest girl. I love the way her tail wags when she’s sitting down.
W III litter out and about on a beautiful Sunday afternoon— one of the many benefits of their large, attached puppy yard! #vomjagdkonig #deutschdrahthaar #vddgna #vddgnaheartlandchapter #versatilehuntingdog
Puppy petting with the W III puppies— they’re four weeks old, going outside, and growing like weeds! Teeth are coming in, so we’re starting to check bite and canine placement. It’s too early to tell on canines, but their bites are correct so far. There don’t appear to be any herniated umbilical cords, and in general, they’re an active, athletic bunch for only four weeks old. One of the things we love about the puppy barn and yard set up is that they become very strong and muscular. Stay tuned for outdoor play videos! #vomjagdkonig #deutschdrahthaar
W III vom Jagdkönig getting cleaned up and fed by mama— we always appreciate a great mommy dog, and Onnie shaping up to be just that. A great mommy makes our job much easier: she does all the cleaning and the feeding and gives the puppies a positive example of how a friendly and confident dog acts towards visitors. Much like children, puppies are constantly watching the adults in their lives and take cues on behavior and outlook from them.

Viva III on her first rabbit track— persistence, excellent use of nose, intermittent pointing. She did all the things and was successful in finding the rabbit #vomjagdkonig #deutschdrahthaar #leagueofgarmin
Take home day for the V III puppies! Vidal III (Victor) went home with the Anderson family to southern IL, and Viva III is staying right here with us 😁
I’m (Elizabeth) prepping Onnie for VGP this fall, we have a puppy we just kept, and Dad is going to be prepping Thomasine for HZP. We also have training days and so many people who stop in over the summer to train, so I’m going to begin posting more videos of that training.
In the video, we’re not perfect. I’m going to do my best to get you insight into all stages of training with mistakes, failures, and successes. If you need help with your training, feel free to drop us a note!

Tired puppies + two small children= pretty poor camera operation 😆

Kitchen Help for Hire!
I hear there’s a labor shortage out there, so I have some really good kitchen helpers for hire. They don’t come cheap, though: by the time you get them gear, hunting trips, kayaks, and room and board, you may as well just clean the kitchen yourself 😂
(Bebe, Flicka, and Ida)
Water Onnie
Onnie getting some swimming in on a warm day. We’re working on blinds, drags, general obedience, and keeping retrieving clean— there are a lot of small building blocks to make sure the dog understands everything that’s expected and to prevent bad habits. You know what they say: Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither was a great hunting dog.

What are you all doing on this fine day?
