Lab Riley (Left), with his new sister K9 Lily (Right). Riley’s new forever family came today, not only to pick him up, but to start his training, some of which was graciously paid for by his foster family that took care of him until he could be rehomed. It’s always a good day when a pup finds their forever family.

❤️ ❤️❤️ READ RILEY’S STORY ❤️❤️❤️

Hello, my name is Riley. I am a 74lb 1.5-2 year old Lab-Plott Hound mix. This January I was abandoned by a mean family and left inside my host family’s fenced in yard without a note or anything. They tried desperately to locate my owners, even contacting the Moore County Humane Society, Moore County Animal Shelter, Facebook and even the Moore County Lost Pets in The Pilot news paper.

With no luck in finding my family, they took me to meet their veterinarian (a few times), who treated me for ticks and fleas, gave me a bunch of shots and commented that I’m now up to date on all my vaccines. Well I hope so because I don’t like vaccines, they hurt my t***y. The veterinarian then put a thing in my neck and said now I couldn’t get lost again. Lastly, my least favorite part, they snipped me, you know, down 👇there!
The veterinarian commented that they didn’t want any little Riley’s running around, whatever that meant.

My new host family has two other 80lb Labs who they say, behave just a little better than me. So they brought me here, to Deer Creek Farm and spent good hard earned money to have me trained. I’m now well behaved, I have good recall and as you can see from all my photos, I get along good with other pups. I’ve been socialized to other pets, people, chickens and livestock. Well goats and cows, I haven’t met any horses yet. I’m house broken and love to snuggle and cuddle. I’m always glued to the hip of my Handler and I LOVE the water. I guess that’s the Lab in me.

Now the bad news, my host family runs an Air B&B and are not as young as they use to be, so caring for 3 large dogs is a bit much. They’ve asked the nice folks here at Deer Creek Farm to reach out and see if anyone is in search of a new sidekick, someone to pal around with, you know, a PIC (Puppy In Crime). This would be at no charge to you, even my training is already paid for.
