Geophagus pyrocephalus, formally known as “Red Head Tapajos”, female guarding eggs. Unfortunately, these were unfertilized but my group is still relatively young. Now that I know they’re ready, I can get them into a more suitable breeding setup

These two were on fire this morning, as there are a new batch of wrigglers about. We’ve had a couple of days of warmer weather, which has allowed me to open up the garage and get a lot of natural light in. I absolutely love these fish in natural lighting. Parachromis multifasciatus

I don’t give her the shine that she deserves, so please enjoy this quick video of my female Rio Niltepec Trimac with some of her fry. I’m a big fan of watching my fish in natural light. Also, her highly abusive significant other makes an appearance 🤣

So. Many. Wigglers.

Second spawn from my young Cribroheros longimanus pair. The male ate the last batch as soon as they became wigglers, so this is clearly going a little better.

Again?!! This is their fourth spawn since mid-September and they have young fry (free swimming for 2-3 weeks) already in the tank, which I fully expect to predate on the new batch as soon as they become wrigglers. I’m going to let nature take its course, as I have plenty of fry already. Parachromis multifasciatus
