Had some GREAT fun tonight in training class. Kristin hits the resales shops she has a good eye and will pick up unusual things for me to use with the dogs. The dogs loved it! We loved it! Win, Win!
There was Sophie (Golden), Obi (Aussie), Ollie (BC/Aussie), and Thanos (Great Dane) Love them all!

Calista (one of my trainers) took Margot to Starbucks. it was Margotā€™s first time for a Pup Cup, iā€™d say she liked itšŸ¤£šŸ˜‚

This morning Margo (st. Bernard) my dog went on a pack walk with one of her best friends Matt. Walking shoulder to shoulder are Margot and Ruby (Alaskan Malamute) the girls pulled the Christmas carts in the Cary Christmas parade this year. Along for the walk Rubyā€™s little brother Rutger (Alaskan Malamute). So interesting how the girls matched their speed and steps being that they donā€™t walk that much together. I am so impressed which how Matt has them working together

Tago (BC/Aussie) walking pushing spool, this is no easy task since most dogs want to jump over it. Tago just gets it, so much fun to watch him work. He was a very tough puppy, but tough puppies make you a better trainer, they just demand that you are as smart as they arešŸ„“Love this guyā£ļø

Explore Our Classes - Obedience

Teach your dog to understand and perform complex commands off leash with distractions. Build up distance and take your obedience training to the next level.

Beginner Life Skills: The foundational class for Therapy dog, service dog, competition obedience, or a well-trained family pet. Important Basic Commands using distance, distractions and duration, leash walking and discussing how to correct behavior issues. Included are obstacles to build your dogā€™s confidence, body awareness, focus. Dogs must be 1 year or older.

Novice Intermediate: An obedience course for dogs who have an understanding of basic commands. In addition to learning new and more complex commands, class goals are for your dog to become comfortable with the basic commands and to prepare them for increased distractions, duration, and distance from you. Dogs must have completed either Puppy Basics or Beginner Life Skills to register.

Intermediate: An obedience course for dogs who have an understanding of basic commands. Dogs will begin to work off leash. In addition to learning new and more complex commands, class goals are for your dog to begin to master the basic commands and to prepare them for increased distractions, duration, and distance from you. Dogs must have completed Novice Intermediate or have a trainerā€™s recommendation after completing Puppy Basics or Beginner Life Skills to register.

Advanced: An obedience course open to dogs who have mastered basic commands and want to test for the AKC Canine Good-Citizen (CGC) certification. Dogs will be working off leash. The class goals are to become comfortable with more complex commands, to learn more advanced activities, and to pass the 10-step AKC CGC test. Dogs must have completed Intermediate or have a trainerā€™s recommendation after completing Novice Intermediate to register.

The first eight to sixteen weeks of your puppyā€™s life are crucial. Let us help you pave the way for success with one of our puppy class options.

Puppy Explorer: This class develops confidence, focus, and engagement by using equipment and obstacles, puppies are introduced to a few basic commands. Class builds Confidence, Focus, Engagement and Body Awareness using puppy agility equipment and obstacles. Crate training, water and problem solving games. Puppies learn to follow you while working off leash. Puppies must be aged 10 weeks to 6 months.

Puppy Basics & Beyond: An Advanced Puppy class, the foundation class for Therapy, Service, Competition Obedience, Field Training or a well trained dog. This class includes equipment and obstacles to achieve, focus, confidence, body awareness, and engagement. Advice on how to correct behavioral issues. Basic commands with duration, distance and distractions. Puppies must be 10 weeks to 1 year old.

AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy: AKC S.T.A.R. (Socialization, Training, Activity, and a Responsible owner). An introductory obedience course for puppies and is recommended for first time puppy owners. The AKC curriculum is designed to prepare your puppy for home life and future training. Your puppy will test for their AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy certification on the last day of class. Puppies must be 10 weeks to 1 year old.

What a GREAT dayā£ļøI thank everyone that came to make the parade a success, for all who walked, who decorated the carts, and for all who wished us luck. More pictures and videos to come but was excited to get it started. We are who we are because of you.

Miss all the people and dogs from our Christmasā€™s past, but memories push me forward to keep the tradition alive.
