Today, Donny and I had to get a little creative find a solution to cover a very large mass on Kimber’s neck until Mobile Laser Veterinary Svc can come remove it in 2 weeks. She keeps scratching at it and opening it up, so we needed to protect it with something breathable and it is just in the wrong spot for an e-collar or even a t-shirt. Her owner can’t drive, so we needed to find a way to help our patient and her owner. After some trial and error with my kids’ t-shirts on my dog Rocky, we went to Target (darn 😆) and figured that size 4T works well as a make-shift gator! Bonus that they come in packs of 5 and can be easily washed. We love being able to find creative solutions for our patients! 💜

On Tuesday my tech and I were tasked with getting food and supplies for 4 adults for at least 7 days. We had a few hours to do it. It was a bit super market sweep, including almost running out of gas and leaving a man behind (he was later picked up). Then Donny and his lovely wife Kira, volunteered to drive the 5 1/2 hours out there and 3 hours back (bc the main highway is only open in one direction) on her birthday! We got 30 gallons of water, 2 propane tanks, 20 gallons of gas, a bunch of cans of beans, tuna, veggies, lots of chips, jerky, and of course Twinkies!
